Windscreen washer issues

Hi, has anyone else had issues with the windscreen washer? A couple of weeks ago my washers (front and rear) stopped working, when pushing or pulling on the stalk the wipers would move, but no fluid would get sprayed.

The fuse in the engine bay is fine, all the hoses seem to be connected (came across another thread where that was the issue) and the washer bottle is topped up. When my wife tried to wash the screen while my head is under the bonnet there is no pump-like noise like I would expect to hear (which is why I’m thinking it’s electrical).

I did manage to get it working again in the week by pulling all the relays in the engine bay and reinserting them, but it has stopped again today and that hasn’t resolved it.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated, otherwise I’ll add it to the list for the dealer to sort when the parts they’re waiting on for other issues come in and they can fit me in (it was a month wait last time).

I think you’re right some bad connection somewhere. You could try hotwiring the pump to check its not that but might as well get the dealership to do it.

Any follow up on this, mine stopped working as well.
No, I’ve been away on holiday this week so leaving it until I got home to contact the garage. It’s bizarre as and when it happens, I can be driving along and the washers work, but 20s later when I try it again (because the spray pattern is rubbish and hasn’t cleared the screen properly) there’s no spray. If I try the rear washer a few times it tends to start working again and then the front works too (I test it using the rear so that if the front doesn’t work it’s not smearing the windscreen).

I had the same - reckon the system gets air bubbles in them, perhaps by some sort of drawing back air through the jet nozzles, and they move around and change size according to the temperature. The situation was improved by service agent, who didn't explain how it was done, but I'm guessing it required the system be flushed out like a brake line.

As mentioned here i am looking for the location of the rear pump. It leaks after it was frozen and now i flood my car with washer fluid every time i activate the rear washer. Anyone an idea where i find this nasty little pump?

Have you checked out this fantastic resource ... put together by an incredibly dedicated Forum member Rok_Dr's :
I didn't see a specific mention for the location but perhaps this will bring attention that that item needs to be added as it is an ever evolving manual.
Cheers!
PS - I just found this and perhaps @Jean Mercier may have some answers as it appears he "gutted" his vehicle late last year. Incredible pictures! I wonder if @Rok_Dr and @Stu_Barnes could gather/combine/link meaningful photos (Like Jean's as example) along with "Manual" together and combine in one site ?? Photos "linked" to manual descriptions (something like this Harry Potter book - I know not a great example - https://www.amazon.com/Harry-Potter-Sorcerers-Stone-MinaLima/dp/1338596705/?tag=globalgrena0b-20)
I do realize it is a very ambitious projetc!! There is just so much great info contributed by so many on this Forum and just feel some is getting "lost" amongst all the entries.

Look forward to hearing the feedback!!
Cheers!

The manual supplement by @Rok_Dr was off course the first place i looked but unfortunately I did not find much about the washer pump there yet.
Figured but in case you hadn't just making sure aware.
I'm sure others will chime in with time.
All the best!
Cheers!

I still have not had time to search the pump. But found puddles of washer fluid below all floor mats. It is the defrost winter stuff. The car smells like it had a russian vodka night in a soapy foam whirlpool. (Don't ask me how i know this smell) Worse than that the open cell foam mats soaked up most of that stuff. They are very heavy now and squirt vodka when compressed. How do i get them dry again? Any suggestions?

Thank you @Catpaw4x4. I'm always pleased to hear that people find my efforts useful

While its a great idea to compile links and photos into one site, it would require a significant amount of work to create and then maintain by many people. Better that Ineos finally releases the long mooted workshop manual, which will have all of this. In the manual I try and keep parts locations to those that should be in the owners manuals but are missing or for simple maintenance procedures.

That said the forum search function is one of the better ones I've come across and I find the bookmark function very useful for keeping links to posts I find useful.

Finally please don't post the Google drive download link as it changes every time I update the manual. Rather post a link to the first post of the thread which will always have the current edition's google drive download link. (This link is in my signature line below) I hope to release an update to the manual in a few weeks so the V6 link will not work once that happens.

Cheers
Steve

I knew what I was suggesting was not an easy task as essentially with it, it would replace the "missing" Ineos manual. I just cannot adequately express by deep gratitude for what you have done and helped so many. Oh how I agree with you on the proper authorities doing what was promised. I appreciate your suggestions for "cross referencing" with what is posted.
Appreciate the heads up on how best to share your manual!
Cheers!

I think a “sticky” would be a great help and keep valuable threads permanently in the forefront….like @Rok_Dr manual and many others.
