Do you have any kind of additional storage shelf or racks that you’ve added in back? I have the Bison Gear top shelf and side shelves (over the wheel wells). Then I have canvas bags (I use Blue Ridge Overland Gear bags but everyone here has their own ideas on that) with MOLLE mounts attached to the side racks. These are convenient places to keep some tools, recovery gear, snow chains/socks - stuff like that, so things aren’t just rolling/sliding around in the cargo area. I keep a recovery gear bag, a packing blanket and snow socks on the top/overhead shelf, then in the side racks I keep a ratchet kit, foldable camp/recovery shovel, and a few other odds and ends. In the MOLLE bags strapped to the side racks I have a first aid bag and a tool kit. This setup makes use of space that would otherwise go unused - you’re not taking up any of the cargo area floor space. Also, there’s a place for everything and everything in its place. Nothing is rattling, sliding, or rolling around, and I know exactly where to find what I need. In the Blue Ridge bags, inside there are removable pouches that you can label, so it’s organized even inside the bags. So if you haven’t done something like this yet, I would recommend it. Some people have gone further and put MOLLE racks over all the windows in the cargo bay, which gives you even more space to strap stuff, but I don’t need that.Where are people storing the hitch ball when not in use inside the truck? I have attached a self-made aluminum box to the airline rails behind my rear seat bench. I use it to store my shovel, recovery straps, shackles and the hitch ball.Where are people storing the hitch ball when not in use inside the truck? Is there a designated spot?
