What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Also on yesterdays agenda... Apex airLYNX Rear Adjustable Disconnect.

I could have had Agile ship these to me and do the installation myself. However, John Brindell (owner) and I have had some fantastic DM conversations on FB and I have seen how much info he 1)has on the Grenadier 2)is willing to openly share, free of charge on various social media platforms. He is a HUGE supporter of the truck and the community. So... I drove the 135mi, 3.5hrs (it is Los Angeles after all) each way, to have Agile do the installation and to meet John in person.

If you live in the South West... or travel through the South West... visiting Agile is worth your time. It is an impressive operation and John will give you a tour of the whole thing. He will show you things they are working on... the challenges... the solutions... all of it.

While there I heard their customer service team on the phone offering to warranty a part. No, no... the customer did not call in asking for the part to be warrantied, someone at Agile saw a FB post showing a cracked control arm skid plate; the post talked about how the skid plate had done its job... how hard he had hit it against a rock... etc etc. Agile tracked him down, called him and offered the warranty. DAMN! That's customer service.

Where's that part from? It looks printed... Is the file available?

Doing an Easter trek across the high country in SE Australia. Great weather last night, getting chilly here now with -1 dec C last night and -4 the night before.

Running Starlink off my secondary battery direct, pulling 33w on average.

Came out of Low range yesterday after a river crossing and it wouldn’t disengage. Stuck solid. Finally got it out and then the transfer case sounded like it exploded internally. From then no matter what I did no movement forward, now with a transmission warning light on. Only a restart fixed it (go figure). I’m not game to try Low again considering where I am. Will try later. High and centre diff locked works at the moment.

Completed around 300km today on purely alpine 4wd tracks. From logging tracks to XX Difficult (front and rear diff locked, very steep and rocky). The vehicle is quite amazing when the tough stuff is thrown at it. It ate the tracks up today, felt like cheating!

No sign of yesterday’s issue with the transfer case, low engaged and disengaged easy. Otherwise I’d have been stuffed.

Not sure I like the way a coolant hose is cable-tied to the 150A winch circuit breaker and decided to remedy this.

Out with some leftover stainless-steel sheet, the angle and die grinders and knocked up a bracket which is held in place by the circuit breaker.

Much happier with this arrangement.

I installed a 42" Stedi 4k 80 LED Double Row Light Bar to the ACS rack using the Leitner light bar mounts.

IMG_1346.jpeg

The light bar whistled so loud starting at 40 mph then sounding like a train whistle by 60 MPH. I moved the light bar to the first load bar on the rack to get it as close to the top of the rack as possible. It works. Not sure if I'll leave it there or not. Wonder if the Baja is as bad as this one in the Leitner mounts.

Here is the new location and install. Love the channel to run the wire as hidden as possible.

I’ve never used these before but they seem useful.

These are made for the earlier G Wagen but fit fairly well, not perfect but good enough I think.

Bought them online here.

Thanks for this. Just ordered a set

Hmmm

I like them and they work well, but

Traveling on the highway this weekend and one of the rear ones went off to fly with the ducks………..

All fitted exactly the same per instructions.
I’ve sent an email off, let’s see what happens.
I've never driven a vehicle with those window shades. What do they actually do?

I havnt got the rear ones , only the front as mine is a two seater. No problems with mine flying off. Been doing some high speed driving over many thousands of km lately and no problems . Did you use the clip at the bottom of the front ones ?
@Tazzieman I like them as I can have the windows open when wet and rain doesn’t enter the cab.

@Logsplitter touring there looks sensational . I follow The OutFit on Youtube...young family with an infant touring fulltime in an old Volvo 6wd.
