What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Went on a photo shoot near Denver after a double ceramic coating project. Clearly the most difficult and intricate car to keep clean, which I understand is not the purpose but at least wanted to start out that way to make future cleanings easier.

Installed the octodyne steering wheel guards. Looks pretty good. Got to get used to the feeling of them...

39,000 kms of driving and I can't recall ever having hit those buttons by accident.
If you now have to get used to or modify your hand positions to suit the guards, why not just modify your hand positions to not hit thos two buttons???
I drive with hands at 9 & 3 with the balls of my thumbs resting on top of the pad are on the wheel.
Even though the hands get close to those outside buttons I can't say I have ever had an issue.
The right one is the Ok button that does nothing 99% of the time and the left one just hits the microphone button, which also does nothing 99% of the time.

I take it you don't use the radio very much?
Every time I'm in parking lot where it's a bit tight on turning radius and I'm in a but of a hurry I hit that radio button. And it mutes the radio until I cancel it or it times out. Super annoying. Especially since I like to listen to more serious talks when I commute to work. I have hit the rewind on the podcast many, many times due to this.

I can get used to this new feeling in the steering wheel since it actually is an improvement over let's say that adas warning which is just flat out annoying.
And yes I have the short cut which you can't hit until a few minutes after starting the car or last it gets into some weird phone settings.

Moral of the story, there is a minor amount to get used to. But there is some getting used to. More than I anticipated.

And I think I want to anodize it more gray.

You are correct
I almost never listen to the radio unless getting localised flooding or bushfire reports.
I would never listen to talk back radio, or heavily focussed reports, because I find they tend be be biased and people tend to listen to things that reinforce their own views.
Of course there may be educational radio I guess that I have never heard of.
Your vehicle so you can do whatever you want to the steering wheel but I just found this one a bit strange.

I took these out of the back today to make room for other stuff for the next week or so... Here's a hint, that's the box they came in from the warehouse :P

Took the kids fishing on the beach today. Continue to love this truck. This week adding a 12V outlet for a magnetic charger ram mount, dynamat in the boot and Leitner roof bars. Would love to add add’l battery and roof ports aftermarket if anyone has done that. Dealer said it can’t be done, but I find that to be hard to imagine.

I typically listen to long form science talks. A bit boring for most.
I can't listen to math talks in the car. I prefer to view that on video or with a paper next to me so I can compute along with the discussion. But physics, space and biology works well with me in the car. I tend to mostly listen to physics or natural sciences.

And sometimes I listen to music. Particularly if others are in the car.

Every so often you'll find me listen to the BBC world broadcast. Usually when there has been a world event. I don't really like the news broadcasts in the US, too much focus on influencing the listener rather than inform them.

I usually set that up before I head out from being parked, I don't like to mess around with my cell phone while driving. Hence the annoyance at the buttons.

I think what you're dealer was trying to say is that it’s not feasible unless you’re willing to throw a lot of money at it. The OEM roof hookups are one of those options that's best ordered with the truck cause it’s expensive to install later…like the safari windows.
