What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Florida-Georgia border snow today! Grenadier handled great.

I was wondering if four of those would fit side by side width wise inside the rear.
Does that give you a more or less flat platform with the second row down?
Hello. They would not fit. 3 don’t fit side by side. No flat platform at all. I can post pics if needed.

I’ve built drawer systems but this rig I’m going with bought not built lol

Huh - OK. Just picked up my Grenadier at the dealer in Chicago from its 12k/1 year service. They got their shop demo QM last week, and let me drive it this afternoon- they said I was the first customer to drive it. Really nice spec - MM Trialmaster w red chassis, safari windows and winch. Here’s what surprised me - the steering was different. Still the same basic lock-to-lock turning ratio, bigger turning radius, stiffer suspension, slightly less return to center - but less play in the wheel and much more direct response. You know that dumb thing reviewers do on YouTube with the Grenadier where they theatrically yank the wheel around to show how loose it is? In this QM, on a straightaway, if you moved the wheel even slightly, it would respond. The dealer sales rep came for the ride and he noticed it too. We all sat down and discussed it when we got back. I don’t understand. Did they do something to the steering damper? Change the caster settings? Tire pressure? I don’t think it can be just the longer wheelbase. That wouldn’t make any sense. And it’s not break-in - it only had 100 miles on it, total. Anyhow, felt great, much better visibility out the back, very tight squeeze in the back seat, but it’s awesome. Grenadier is a better fit for me and doesn’t carry the US chicken tax penalty- but it was a lot of fun, and I really appreciate Knauz letting me try it out for fun.

I have not yet driven a QM... I did ride in one in Hambach. I also really liked it.

Interesting. My 5/24 build does not wander like the influencers rides on Youtube, no idea why or why not. Caster will improve the wandering tendency and help return the center. For me a less stiff steering stabilizer "fixed" 90% of the return to center issue / non-issue. I am confident I could adjust the (Fox ATS 2) down to get 100% but I like it a bit stiff. I have not had the caster checked but will at some point.

Yeah - I have no idea. I also put on the Fox damper (the non-adjustable one) and it seemed to reduce the “ping pong” effect - but maybe that would have happened naturally with the stock damper anyhow. Not sure. All I know is this QM was really locked in solid - it could be unit variability, some dealer setup issue, maybe it’s true for all more recent builds (my Grenadier is 11/23), or maybe they’ve changed something around the QM. Absolutely no idea.

I received the ladder accessory mount and jerry can holder from Black Sheep, and got it installed. The only jerry can I have around right now is a Chinese one, and the raised welds wont allow it to fit in the holder. Awaiting the arrival of a proper waivan jerry can.

A much more elegant solution than the DVA mechanics setup. I really like the Letech, but just couldn't justify the $2000 it would have been by the time I got one to Texas.

My late ‘24 build with OEM suspension doesn’t have much play in the wheel or wander at all.

I really like the QM for the bed but I can’t get past the smaller 2nd row seating or Chicken Tax either. I guess a roof rack will have to compensate for lack of a bed 😜…that’s what i’m telling my wife anyway 😂😂

In case anyone else is considering the Le Tech ladder, Warner Ineos in Salt Lake is the US importer and they sell the ladder for much less than $2000.
