Note it features a metal point at the front end that can be used to break a window in an emergency. I keep 2 of the steps, one in each door pocket.
Do you like this better than standing on the tire?

I stand on the tyre and also on occasions a step that hooks over the tyre.
But sometimes when tying stuff on ( heavy timber) my short 5'9" frame isn't up to reaching across. Despite my athletic build and senior mobility 😃
The hook step is easier than standing with the toe of a wet work boot on the latch with my arse propped against the open door!

On another note, decided to update the sound system.
Ordered the kit to today.
Installing next week.
Audiofrog speakers in the doors, tweeters in the A pillars, Hertz 10" sub in the trunk. 14 channel dsp going to 7 amps for fully active controls. Dampened doors.

Should be okay.. ;)

Yeah, those are not stainless.
Yeah, complete bs. I bought them on Amazon for mounting my antenna and my lightbar to my roof rack. Got a new set of black m6 screws that are in stainless, this time they even quoted the material used so think I may get lucky and actually get stainless...
I'll know in a week or two.

Technically yesterday, but did the necessary trim on the corner of the Gen-1 Rival 4x4 engine skid plate and installed it. A bit of a challenge fitting the cross member - had to use washers on one side instead of the supplied spacer, along with some gentle hammering, but it got to the right place. Sliders next weekend!

Just had an Audison system installed last week. Tweeters and midrange in pillars real nice install, however, the display/ display ecu will not boot/turn on. Tech spent hours on phone with Italy techs going through all reboot sequences to no avail. Even contacted grenadier tech but of course they need to put vehicle on computer. And believe it when they say they’re the only ones who can! Drove 744 miles with no gas gauge, speedometer, cruise, A/C, and boo coo warning lights into Colorado . I think it’s like Jimbo originally designed it. Mechanically sound with literally no frills. ))). No problem just fill her up every 150 miles. Maybe Colorado Springs can reboot, I’ll post the issue when I find out. So….Parb be careful!
