Today Maria and I went to the National Outdoor Expo at the NEC, with free tickets from Ineos Automotive. Still an expensive place to go as we bought a posh waterproof coat for Maria and some collapsible stools.

I'm not sure that Ineos marketing has really worked out what to do with Grenadier owners, the invitation talked about having a test drive and a good look around the Station wagon and the Quartermaster. Anyway, some pictures:

Latitude, the roof tent people had a stand with a Grenadier fitted with a MaxTraxx kitchen insert; lovely but pricey.

today I had a coffee at the Giau pass
Hi Orso, the Dolomites is to me the most beautiful mountainous area in the world. Nowhere else you have so many mountain trails, Via Ferratas and excellent mountain restaurants and mountain huts where you can eat and sleep overnight in such a beautiful mountainous surrounding!
Open driving in my Opel speedster turbo( it`s a better Lotus Elise, built by Lotus) in that area is unbeatable!
Where are you living? Have fun!

Received in some roof rack eyelets from Amazon and fiddled with multiple ways to tie down the kayak. Also had to practice solo putting it on and off the roof WITHOUT scratching the car. It’s a 12 ft (3.65 m) kayak but it almost looks small on the Genny, barley overhung rear or over windshield. Threaded the straps under a rack bar and it held the kayak flat to the roof very tight. Likely will invest in some actual kayak J racks in the future so I can get two on top. Testing continued by driving to some water with no slippage. Roof with the full Ineos rack is super solid. I’m not a slight person and it felt very solid and comfortable working (standing, kneeling) on the roof. The back ladder is awesome and really is easy to back off the roof and find the top rungs. I found myself using the installed tow ball as the first step up / last step down since the rear bumper is tall. Scariest part of all was leaving the Grenny in the remote lonely parking spot and being out of view for a couple of hours. It was fine. Finally, a picture to prove I’m in Texas.

Shame, we should have done a thread for a little meet up. I was there as well. Not sure what was going on, as I heard people say they had tried to get a test ride in one of the four IG’s outside but were told they were fully booked. Not sure what they were booked up to do, but I only saw one move in all the time I was stood outside having a toot (vape).

Not a bad show for free, but oh how I laughed and thought that’s good value for money when I paid the £17.95 for the privilege of parking the car for 5hrs.

Wow! Good to know they can be beat back. I hadn't even though about packing a mini-sledge. Noted. Did the beat back portion hold pressure and the bead? Why beat back in lieu of using spare? I'm assuming it's because the terrain didn't look like fun changing territory.

Interesting, your second person who dented the steel wheels. The only other person was the Dr from the hard way home series. Did you hit the rock.at speed creating the dent?

Actually, I dented the inner rim 20 mintutes into my Death Valley trip back in December. there was nothing crazy and it was on a newly cut road. The wheels are tough, but i swapped them out because i didn't want to deal with having to bend them back.

Hi, how did you manage to damage the rim that way? Was it because of the low tire pressure in the sandy environment?
I think this is a very good example why you shouldn`t have alloy rims on your 4x4.
Thanks for your posting!

Just a dirt road, we were all stopping and the trail boss was on the radio giving instructions and I was watching what he was doing and did not see the big rock, I thing it would have been worse if the tires were full of air, but maybe not, at least I did not have to change the tire and hold everyone up, I am still driving on it 3 days later LOL 18 bs is normally what I air down too

Yeah a Mini Sledge is a great too to have, the Trail Guide said get a hammer, I had no idea that would work, no the bed did not break, but it was very close. changing the tire would have held up the group, this worked well, I am still Driving on it 3 days later, and No Bounce or Wobble View: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=7121938764522050

If you buy the parking online in advance you can get the cost down £5 to only £12.95. (Yes, I know, still an absolute rip-off, but it is as good as it gets).

Tested out the Steel Wheel this weekend, they are TOUGH
The alloys are tough too! Tyres not so much!
The tyre shop said this impact would have cracked most alloys.

Is that alloy repairable by a wheel shop? If not it would probably still be good enough to use as the spare wheel

Just received and installed the INEOS forum number license plate light shroud! Kudos to those who collaborated on this forum project.
