Drove The Shafer Trail down from Canyon Lands to Potash Rd, and it exited out right next to the hotel on the Colorado river. Very nice. Spent some time on BLM land and explored the top side of Long Canyon Rd.

Great trip so far! How is the HVAC system working?

I set it on auto, 72 degrees and occasionally tune it up or down as needed.

Incoming sun through the windshield will heat you up fast - sometimes I pop a safari window to vent a little heat out.

Can't believe I just now stumbled on this thread. Great job man, seriously. I'm truly envious of that route; gets my gears turning about down some sort of east coast run. Safe travels back to NoVA!

Marvellous. Unfortunately, I can only dream of such wonderful landscapes here in Germany. And if there are one or two on a micro scale, there are certainly prohibition signs around them.

Looks amazing. When we take our Grenadier to the USA we need to do that trail. 😍
Is that a crack on your windscreen in the sixth picture 🤔

Yes - it looks like it took a rock and cracked at 650 miles. There is another chip on the passenger side at this point as well.

There are a ton of trails out here - find a local when you come - I've barely scratched the surface of what's here!

This is a great guide to the trail that I found after the fact - but very informative and great pictures.

The latest fuel report. The good news is that (I think) I'm through the last of the significant mountain ranges until I get to the Appalachian, Blue Ridge, etc. should find some real flat land between here and Chicago.

I'm gonna tool around Denver for a few days before making my way to Chicago.

Two more major chips in the windshield the last few days - I expect one of them to develop into a crack tomorrow.

Idk if I've just got bad luck or if this windshield is made of paper (glass, clearly)

Awesome pictures and memories!

A day not driving - dropped the boy @ the airport and am solo from here on out.

I took some time to install my Melville & Moon seat covers - they can be a bit fiddly and snug, but once on, they seem to stay in place.

I gave up fitting the headrests, I think the covers need a little stretch and as noted - NAS trucks get four large and one small headrest. M&M is shipping a euro spec kit, but I believe there will be an effort to rectify that.

The additional storage is a godsend - the rears are holding a tire puncture kit and my battery jump starter, while the Garmin overlander fits in a zippered pocket on the passenger side. In the large DS pocket, I have the all important zip ties.

Beautiful photos, and a great looking Grenadier! I know this area well. One of my favorite places. Great to see a Grenadier out on the trails!

My thoughts on the accuracy of the fuel gauge and Remaining Range reading.
