More out of interest.

The coolant temp sensor didn’t help me either when a coolant pipe burst on the way home after picking up my new vehicle, the engine overheated and shutdown. No warning.
That's a limitation of most/all immersed bulb temperature sensors. They need to be surrounded by fluid (coolant) to operate. A rapid loss of coolant won't be detected as a temp rise because they don't work in air. That's why these guys exist.

Maybe a humidity alarm?
Then again , rain, water crossings...
Best to get familiar with dog's breakfast in the modern engine bay and take preventative measures. And repeat from time to time.

Is that a petrol or the diesel
Petrol
btw it's possible to crush some wiring under the cover if you're not careful
Also I read some guy with a diesel doing a DPF burn cooked his engine cover.

I am know wondering if all the Grenadier under bonnet fires 🔥 have been on just the petrol version 🤔
