We all (?) know these common differencies:

UK Drive shaft
US Half shaft

AUS Tail shaft
UK Propeller shaft (Prop shaft)
US Drive shaft

And probably many more ...

But this is interesting. In this:
I see first time "Firewall" in English text. Here are some terms I have seen/used:

AUS Bulkhead -> Firewall
FI Tulipelti ("fire plate") or Rintapelti ("chest plate")
DE Trennwand
US Firewall
UK Bulkhead
SE Brandvägg ("firewall")
SP Mamparo ("bulkhead")

Here is one public dictionary:

I have started collecting Spanish - Finnish - English (UK) dictionary for my own use.

Always interesting the etymology of our everyday words.
I did a post a while ago - a large number of motoring terms are derived from horse drawn vehicles, pre-dating cars by centuries.

Firewall/bulkhead is interesting. Bulkhead is a nautical term for the transverse barriers in a ship, it is likely that those countries with a rich nautical history (England, Spain) adopted this term.

Firewall was a term adopted for a panel that separated the firebox in a steam driven vehicle from the passenger or driver.

On a separate point, just to complicate things, a propshaft or drive shaft is known as a tail shaft in Australasia.

Australia is going through a phase of dropping English and Australian terminology and taking on American terminology.

There's half a generation of Brits who speak with a rising inflexion. They grew up watching Neighbours (it was on TV about when most kids got home from school)

Over my dead body they are, although I’ve always said firewall.

Routes, which used to be pronounced roots are now called rowts by younger gens. Sounds very weird.
But at the end of the day you can't beat a root 😁
