I specifically stated find a new service centre, as in mechanics
If the dealers are that bad they would never see any of my cars for service
Not enough density of Ineos dealers obviously.. you know this. Are you an owner?

What the hell, drive around the country to shop for a dealer that may agree to argue on your behalf? Then stay around to get the warranty work done?

How realistic is this?

As you have stated Ineos won’t fix it under warranty so unless your very patient and stubborn no point in chasing it
If it was mine I would fix the issue and move on without dealer assistance
, a very realistic approach IMO
How realistic is this?

That other video that was linked is crazy!! yes same noise but I've never heard one at that level of loud before, makes me wonder if that is just gone bad now. Curious how long was it making noise before it got that loud? Seems like the dealer is waiting for a complete break down before they decide to replace it. Even with my method of topping it off and cycling it around there is a very slight noise that I would say is normal but you can't really hear it unless you stand near it or open the hood and look down at it. Full lock however it makes a bit more noise but I think that is true to all cars. I'm just blown away how loud that one was lol no one in their right mind would think that could be normal coming from a pump.

How loud was it before you topped the fluid? You Say now, you need to stand next to it in order to hear it slightly

While driving and window down it was annoying to consistently listen too. After I topped it off I cannot hear it while driving any longer unless going slow and basically full lock then I hear a whine.

It is not good practice to hold steering on full lock for extended periods because of the high pressure it holds , when it whines on full lock that is normally the first sign of wear and / or a issue

If I’m following the responses here correctly you might be referencing the video I posted. (Thanks for the @ @HereinDaRockies )
Mine has made this noise from about 50 miles total on the ODO and am at ~370 miles now and it’s only getting louder. I tried topping off my reservoir but it seems that the system rejected or vented off a bunch of the fluid instead of self bleeding.
My dealer has been more communicative since my last post saying a number of managers have been looped in on it, including service manager (who I think was the one that initially said “it’s normal” lol), but I doubt I’ll hear anything until everyone is back in the office next week. In the meantime I’ve resorted to absolutely plastering the pump with sound deadening material (which was actually in place in both of my recordings) and if I play music loud enough with my windows rolled up I can’t hear it. With all that money that’s left my bank account, it feels shi**y. Especially for how long this is taking them to resolve.

It’s still the only thing holding me back from raving about the car. Love it otherwise.

Yeah clearly you have a bad pump, that is 100% for sure! lol Mine was just a whine in low fluid that they clearly didn't bleed the system enough, but that also stood the same for about 4 others..... Making me wonder if their install station actually has a issue when at that fluid install cell. Electric pumps are easier to bleed but this one is quite large line and space.... Curious maybe they will release some sort of TSB or something at some point. I mean enough complaints start to hit their emails they must start looking.

If this is indeed a BMW steering pump system it has a pressure bypass valve where you should never care about full lock it circle lates the same as normal with flow. It would be heat that kills this thing, overheating the pump will be a no no. I hate to say it but with the crap steering radius we have any time I drive it I'm always full lock some where during that drive or more, specially parking.

Just ordered a can of CHF11S this morning. My PS pump also is quite loud (was like that since new, has 1600 miles now). I just checked the reservoir and the level is below the min mark on the dip stick! It sounds just like the video that was posted in this thread.

I hope my pump hasn't been permanently damaged. There are no leaks anywhere so it leads me to believe it was either under filled at the factory or had trapped air that worked its way out.

I will report back with what happens once I top it off!

My pump shows normal fluid level, and the noise is still there

Update:

So my can of CHF11S showed up this afternoon (Amazon same day delivery rocks!)

I took a turkey baster and removed as much of the old fluid from the reservoir as possible- managed about 8oz. The fluid was a bit dirty but not the worst I have ever seen. Then I topped off with fresh fluid up to the max fill line, started the truck and cycled the steering lock to lock multiple times. Rechecked the level and it stayed at the full position.

The high pitch pump whine is definitely still there- might have quieted down ever so slightly. It is not audible in the cabin of the vehicle with the windows rolled up but windows down or outside the vehicle it is audible for sure. Don't have time to take it on an extended drive today- perhaps a longer drive can burp more air out of the system if there is any to further quiet it down.

I will definitely keep eyes on it and at least now have a baseline starting point of max fill on the dip stick to see if the level drops at all over the next few hundred miles.
