See Through Glass on-road video review (UK)

another use for duct tape found - attaching flowery twats' hands to steering wheels.

why does anyone remove their grip of steering wheel while driving - should have a deadman switch attached that activates the brakes if grip released or for incessant inane chat.
That would be an active driver aid, carful with this crowd, they get upset at the idea of a parking sensor..... ;)

Here in the states we often steer with our knees so we can hold the chicken nugget in one hand, and the dipping sauce in the other. 🍗

A while back I was rear-ended by a college student who was - and I kid you not - eating a bowl of hot soup while driving.
When they hit you, the soup naturally went all over and spilled on her lap and she was burned. The lawsuit against Panera for not warning her that could happen is pending.

Some years ago we were rear ended by a guy who said we stopped suddenly in front of him so it was our fault.
Not sure what was distracting him
We were parked at a petrol pump, my father was walking inside to pay after filling up the tank.
i guess a minimum of 10 minutes stopped and we weren't even on the road

That McDonald's coffee lawsuit was likely the turning point for American society (mostly kidding, but partly serious).

Yeah, the soup was all over his lap and the car. I went to check on him because he wasn't getting out of his car. At first I thought he had puked, but he readily admitted to eating the soup while driving (bowl in one hand, spoon in the other, steering wheel between his knees). I was stopped at a red light and he just plowed into me. I can see how this is an argument for autonomous braking, but I'd much prefer that police enforce existing laws, and punish those who endanger others by their actions.

I was riding shotgun in my buddy's Ram 1500 as we were pulling up his driveway. His wife was on the lawn - not in the driveway. The computer in the Ram slammed on the brakes, having apparently mis-identified her location. My neck was sore for a couple of days. He traded in the Ram for a Gladiator that doesn't have any "active safety" features.

The opposite of hyper-active autonomous braking, is the complete lack of autonomous braking when you are supposed to have it. Anyone see the Superbowl commercial in which a Tesla runs over a child mannequin? There have been a number of spectacular failures of this system in the real-world.

I'm in favor of emphasizing personal responsibility, and holding people accountable for their actions. Does that make me old?

Awful driving. If you hadn’t deployed the man in a high vis jacket waving a red flag, audible warnings and put warning flares on the road for 50ft behind your vehicle, how was this poor guy supposed to know you had stopped. He clearly wanted to drive through the forecourt at 30mph and was just minding his own business.

That's just ridiculous. Concepts of responsibility have changed.

I have a slightly different take on this review. I found it quite reassuring, this guy is not an expert, he isn’t even properly a car critic and he definitely isn’t an offroad expert. But he is just a car enthusiast. So he really offers nothing to us who have been following in terms of off road capability etc. But what really had been lacking is your average schmo’s impression of driving it for a few hours on the highway to whatever your local equivalent is of Daylesford etc. let’s face it unless you are Les Hiddens most of us will take it on an occasional adventure in the Bush but it will spend most of it’s time doing shorter roadtrips and daily stuff. So this bloke I think gives a different perspective from most of the others and overall it’s pretty reassuring for me on that score.

To me probably the most relevant thing he said was: “if you have one coming, I don’t think you will be disappointed because I assuming you have ordered one because not many other new 4x4s are this focused” yep

Its funny how this review come out, about 6 reviews "after the priors" had made comment on vague steering... still - in my view it seems SOFT not vague.
If any driver however can gauge / feels that the steering is vague... then that same driver would be acutely aware of the FOOTREST, which he makes no mention... I don't buy in to this review much as it seems to be a later piece starting that a possible vagueness of steering is actually ok... but couldn't bring himself to say anything about the footrest which is picked up in no less than 11 of the previous reviews. Just saying! Rose tinted glasses for 2 or 3 of these reviewers I would say!

Look.. if people want a large SUV set up for on road handling I'd suggest that LandRover have several options for them.
And if they like old movies and the seesawing steering wheel , direct them to series Land Rover models!
Plan your moves 10 seconds before you need to take action is my advice.
Its quite entertaining and educative. 2 out of 3 of my sons are wiling to drive mine. The 3rd - no effing way!
