Secure vehicle from rolling ?

Hello all ! New owner here !
I was trying to reverse park at the office today , the parking is little bit steep ! However whenever I switch the gear to R or D it will be automatically switched back to Park with the error msg “ secure the car from rolling “

Turned off and on the car same thing keeps happening.
I think the door was open , do you think its the reason ?

Yes if the door is open it will put it back in park. Place the vehicle in off-road mode to bypass this. It is common on many new vehicles as a safety feature

Yes, does that to me if I haven't shut the door properly
