The 4 electrical points on the roof near the reels (for the ones with electrical option) are connected to spotlights in my car, I believe ext2/3 will switch all of them (Weird thing 1 switch puts 1 light on, the other switches all 3).

I have a dual battery setup, and my electrician says that we cant connect these 4 points (and ext2/3 panel switches) directly to the second battery because he doesn't know where the black cable leads. I have zero experience in electricals but he tried to explain to me that he needs to trace the black cable to find out where it leads in order for him to directly connect it to the second battery.

Can someone help me direct him how this can be done? I have a dual battery setup with a dc-dc and a redarc system in place, we successfully connected the lighter plug (in the trunk) to the battery without issues, but not the roof points.

I personally don’t have a dual battery setup, but this is exactly what I want to do when I get a house battery eventually.

Send your electrician Rok Dr’s grenadier manual for some guidance. Regardless you’ll need to swap out the ctek trickle charger for one that isolates the aux battery.

EDIT: I see you mentioned you got the redarc, so you should have the aux isolation already. Super curious how it work out!

I personally will choose to use the factory roof outlets for driving lights (offroad only of course). Camp lights or other things that mainly are used while parked with the engine off are what I'll wire to a house battery. I dont want to be diving into the cab of the car to turn on/off camping lights/accessories, I want those switches to be at the back of the car. Just a personal preference.

That being said, those outlets are fused in the 'aux power fuse box' in the second picture here, so thats where I would start looking for a way to rewire to a different power source. You could easily test this by removing fuses from there and testing the roof outlets.

Print out the Rok Dr Guide and give a copy to your auto-electrician. Lots and lots of information he can use to help you, like paras 5, 6, 7.1, 8, 9.2 and 9.3. @Rok_Dr

On a standard install the roof outlets go to the High Power Aux Fuse Box (see para 7.1). On my car that fuse box is powered from Stud 4 on the 5-stud busbar, look here with pictures and detailed descriptions. Your car is likely to be a similar setup which your auto-electrician can easily check (there can be differences between countries, so check).

Having a Redarc means the auto-electrician needs to takes that into account.

It is not weird, but it is the INEOS setup. One 25 amp circuit is for the INEOS 40 inch LED lightbar option, the other 3 rooftop outlets share the second 25 amp circuit, so you can easily add camp or works lights.

Print out and show the auto-electrician this post. It details where the busbar cables go, he can easily double check on your car.
