Anyone considered a allumium storage box on the roof for sleeping inside .
6ft long - 800 wide 500 height .
There cheap at £500
Water tight and secure .
One I’ve seen has two doors for side or end access.
More than enough room in a sleep bag .
Mines for working away getting head down.

"coffin dreams"..... no thanks! ;)

You can probably find a rooftop tent on ebay for that money. Sleeping in a small coffin-shaped metal box doesn't sound like much fun, but different strokes for different folks I guess. Do you have a picture of what you're thinking of?

If you're open to hardship, you could try a bivy sack and even sleep under the car to keep the rain off. It has enough clearance. Groundwater would be a problem though.

**edit** for example, this is a bit more expensive than what you were thinking but has got to be nicer to sleep in: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25682133...pid=5338980679&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1
