Rock Sliders - Decisions To Be Made

These are just what I needed. Thanks so much.

Is that a kydex plate on top of the sliders? It looks fastened down by bolts. I live in New England and I would be concerned about moister and road salt sitting in between the plate and the sliders. If that occurs, it wouldn't take long for rust to show up. Any thoughts on this?
I live in Northern California on the coast. Salt air is our only problem. I can't really address road salt.

Hi all,

I am deciding which rock sliders to add and have narrowed my choices down to Buzz Overland or Dissent Off-road. Dissent's option seems a bit beefier at 3/16 vs. the Buzz option's 1/8 but the Buzz option is stainless which means one less thing to think about down the road. Has anyone here done a deep dive comparing the two? Any functional issues that are not immediately apparent? -Thanks
Depends on your use. After a ton of research I elected to go with the White Knuckle Offroad rock sliders and have been VERY happy with them. Why did you not consider them?

I did see these and liked them. They have a great reputation but from the pictures I saw online, they looked like a more rounded design and I prefer the more angular look of the Dissent. Any chance you have any close up pics of the WKO sliders? Primary use is daily driver with occasional off-road antics.

I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow and let ya take a look!

Either of your initial selections are a solid choice, getting away from the Chineseum sliders / steps Ineos offers will help with corrosion and an occasional touch up will do the rest to insure a long life.

I chose the Buzz Overland step because I need a step and not a proper slider, they are narrower than my second choice, being stainless was factor but not a primary factor in that I am 1/3 mile from the ocean when home in Mexico.

Are the Ineos sliders bad? They seemed substantial. What I love about the Grenadier is there are so many options. It can make it hard to choose.

Do we know where Ineos sliders are made? Seems silly to make them in China. I elected to go with those just so I start off with sliders since I never was able to decide on them for the Defender. At least now while I learn more and use the car more I have something down there.

Yes they are made in China. The coating is of low quality and plenty of INEOS sliders have rust and stone damage after modest use.

Great idea INEOS, but just a weak implementation. There are much better choices.

That is too bad. I already have them installed so I will see how they do. The most important thing is if they are strong enough to support the truck as claimed. If they need replacing I can do that but it was nice to have them on delivery instead of having to source on my own. Problem is they will probably last so long it will be years before I need new ones. By then options will be better.
