Am I now classified as an "oldie" ?Mine are to stop children , oldies and dogs getting in.
Yep (although I’ve gone steps here). Unfortunately if I don’t invariably I need to buy a new set of (Toyota type aluminum) steps before I sell a vehicle. Are folks really anticipating putting their Grenadier in places where they're expecting to slide over rock ledges etc or are the rock sliders intended for their 2000kg load bearing capacity in some other way?
I'm over 60 and a grandad. You become an oldie when the will to resist ageing wanes.Am I now classified as an "oldie" ?
Ah, I'm a veteran oldie, I gave up fighting ageing at 50I'm over 60 and a grandad. You become an oldie when the will to resist ageing wanes.

Yes - 4-wheeling in the north east of America is rife with rocks; those at the NY drive event will concur. Are folks really anticipating putting their Grenadier in places where they're expecting to slide over rock ledges etc or are the rock sliders intended for their 2000kg load bearing capacity in some other way?
Not sure about rock ledges. Other benefits for me are protection for the lower panels and as a jacking point for recoveries. Are folks really anticipating putting their Grenadier in places where they're expecting to slide over rock ledges etc or are the rock sliders intended for their 2000kg load bearing capacity in some other way?
Absolutely yes. Sliders have been a lifesaver on my Landcruiser 200. Western US has many areas where large ledges and boulders are part of the journey. Stock tire size on the Grenadier makes sliders even more important imo.Are folks really anticipating putting their Grenadier in places where they're expecting to slide over rock ledges etc or are the rock sliders intended for their 2000kg load bearing capacity in some other way?
What about welding a plate onto the top of the rocksliders?Well, if they are rock sliders that slide over rocks, that part will make you hang tight and not slip.
Yes that would work but certainly more intrusive and involve grinding/wire wheeling/flappy disking the nice surface coating off. What about welding a plate onto the top of the rocksliders?
@DCPU got you a solution. It even has anti skid for muddy access
Attach a bungee cord and it springs back to the roof after use!@DCPU got you a solution. It even has anti skid for muddy access
Real men of genius between you and me. We could market this as automatic step for grenadierAttach a bungee cord and it springs back to the roof after use!
We must add the pull down cord because some people are too short to reach the roof.Real men of genius between you and me. We could market this as automatic step for grenadier
Would never put one on a real offroader, they really are not strong enough to be sliders and just another electrical thing to go wrong.isn't there an aftermarket combo rock slider/step that comes down when you open the door and retracts back up when you close it?

Here's a company that makes Rock Sliders that have automatically deploying integrated side steps. Perhaps they will add the Grenadier to their current vehicle line up.isn't there an aftermarket combo rock slider/step that comes down when you open the door and retracts back up when you close it?
