I've seen a couple of DIY ski racks for the rear of the Grenadier on this forum, but this is easier. The Rhino all-purpose holder works great:
There's space to easily mount two next to each other. No problem opening and closing the doors, it's easier than reaching the top, and the leashes/bindings don't fall onto the roof. In the summer they can hold tools or paddles.
Only thing I didn't like is the contact points from the bar clamps have a pretty small surface area. They are plastic, but I still worry about scratches so I put some PVC tape I had lying around on the rungs this year.
I used this for several hundred miles last winter and didn't have much trouble with road salt and such collecting.
