Has anyone removed the center console storage bin? I want to run cabling from my trailer brake controller to the area just behind the parking brake handle (RHD vehicle). All suggestions welcome!

I drilled directly behind brake handle and routed cable from under the DS gap, bottom edge, of bin. Same should be on RHD, just opposite of my pic. Plenty of room to route and fish wire up through your drilled hole. Note: you do drill through 2 layers of plastic and there are no obstructions of the redarc mount.

I routed under the door threshold strips (they just pull off). Getting past the B pillar, either remove some trim or just tuck the wires under the plastics.

The centre console just looked too much of an obstacle!

I fitted my brake controller switch in the same place, behind the handbrake. I was able to remove the trim around the handbrake and the cupholders reasonably easily, a few screws and some firm tugs to release the clips. You can also remove the trim behind the centre console reasonably easily.
I was able to thread the wire for the head unit (switch wire) down the centre tunnel to the back of the handbrake. My brake controller unit is fixed to a bracket beneath the back seat, near the handbrake cable tunnel.
I was not able to remove the centre console, I couldn't work out how to disconnect the 12v plug and USB socket which is necessary to remove the console/cubby. As it turns out, you don't need to pull it out, just fish the cable through underneath it.
Note my vehicle is RH Drive.
