@trobex I thought of you when I watched a video from a audio store in the USA. They put a subwoofer in passenger well of a LHD vehicle. They then made a custom box that makes the angle universal all the way across. The owner of the store, said it is great, you won't notice. I was laughing so hard.

that passenger suddenly went from somewhat uncomfortable to really uncomfortable unless you have very short legs.
I put my big sub in a box in the trunk. If i am filling up the trunk i can always remove the box or put it in the backseat. I have enough extra wire to the sub that it can be moved around.
I put my tweeters higher up and behind the grab handle but sticking out a bit so i didn't have to modify the bracket. Also doesn't interfere with the airbag.

I have now had the flooring out for an other 500 km's. Have decided I like it better without, so making it more permanent. I used the remainder of my 1 sq metre carpet, and laid it on top of the closed cell foam that I placed earlier. I then cut out the bit of lining in front of the footerest that was still protuding into the footwell, and placed the carpet over, and tucked it under the remaining console lining, and front panel. Slightly modified rubber mat placed on top. I cut the corner where it was sticking up, Sikaflexed the overlap, and put a cable tie to hold it together. I lays flat now, and does not catch my size 12 boots.

I might have all of these things, but the original crushed disks resulted from a motorbike accident. Periodic ongoing pain for nearly 40 years!

GrenX are advertising their new RHD replacement floor mat that reduces the hump significantly, I am going to go to their site and pre order one now.

Just ordered, the mat looks great in their pictures, and reduces the hump by what looks like at least 50% the cost is about $400 au.
It also looks factory.

Just ordered mine Steve- have you installed yours yet? Would to love to get your feedback on whether its reduced the height difference from left leg to right leg - the additional pressue on my right leg seems to be the source of the discomfort on longer trip - 185cm with 83cm inseam

Yes. I’ve now done 30,000km and I find the Grenadier a very comfortable drive.

In previous vehicles, most recently a Toyota Fortuner and before that a Nissan Navara, I was always very uncomfortable at the end of a long drive.

Micheal - interested to hear about your seat height ? Set to fully high? are you resting your left foot on the hump or placing it flat on the floor ?

I know organising final design and manufacturing takes time, so probably still a while off, but live in hope that I will have one before my next multiple thousand kilometre trip.

Hi Steve,

Without stealing his thunder - I spoke to Rohan (Gren X) last week (at the INEOS 4X4 Club of Victoria AGM) and he confirmed the the prototype has been tuned into a final product to be available in March.

He said the final version colouring and texture is a very very close match to factory.

BTW: I sat in his Grenadier with the prototype installed last month.

It is a very good design - and the footrest is much lower and narrower.

It is pricey but I guess it's value will correlate to the degree of discomfort felt by the driver!
