Recaro is insolvent

Maybe the German version of Jim Ratcliuffe can be their saviour?
There must be a few multibillionaires sitting around .

when govt policies interfere with markets, it can play havoc with supply chains. A domino effect is not out of the question....

Few days ago BBS Wheels went insolvent….A lot of automative suppliers are in trouble at the moment. ZF (gears , automotive supplier) want to kick off a few thousand employee.
No good times in germany for „classic“ suppliers

Recaro is big in the automotive supply chain. They supply Volvo, bmw and Audi with seats. Probably more than those as well.
Maybe this is just to let them restructure debt.

Perhaps Ineos will purchase Racaro, heck we only get one Belstaff jacket and they bought them. If they purchase Racaro they get two for each vehicle sold!

Well that sucks. I assume Ineos owns the design for seat and can have them manufactured by someone else. Also, I would think, they have a container of seats but once that runs out, the early buyers have a collector item.

What they did, is Similar to Chapter 11 in USA. So the will not close, they‘re regorganizing, looking for new partner, and mostly they find and restart. Production is still going on.

The only thing harder than expanding capacity for a boom, is shedding it fast enough for the bust.

I bet there won't even be a supply interruption. I imagine it's tougher to shed employees in Germany and "right size" as fast as here.

Another victim of private equity/investment?

Recaro Automotive Seating is not part of the Recaro Group. It's owned by Raven Acquisitions LLC out of Detroit who licence the brand from Recaro.

Updated with a link to a press release from Recaro Automotive:
As Lollo suggests above, hopefully they will emerge from this restructure in better shape.

A big “if” in the future of Recaro is if their German trade union, IG Metall, will allow the kind of restructuring that allows a German manufacturer to compete over the long term with manufacturing in China.
I’m not optimistic.

Hopefully a company like
ISRINGHAUSEN will buy out Recaro and add them into their product line. Isri is one of the largest commercial vehicle and industrial equipment specialist seating manufacturers.

I was thinking the same thing. That is the brand of seat that AM General used for the Hummer. The non spring version obviously. lol

The Hummer was so comfortable to drive because of those seats. I had a bad back at the time and driving that made it feel better. Of course, my daily driver at the time was a Saturn Wagon or GMC Safari van. Darn company cars. :)

You should sue god...or join a gym!
Oddly, possessing a mans stature of 6'4" and the increased torso that goes with it, actually makes it worse, as the aggressive side bolsters push me away from the seatback, causing a hunch. I lack the slobby backfat to fill in the gap. I look forward to my airbag installation.

I've never seen a car built that didn't accommodate a woman, so being small soft and wimpy does have its advantages. :p

With the strict German labour laws, it is almost impossible to make the 200+ highly paid employees redundant without it taking years.
Deliberate insolvency is the only way to move production to a less expensive country.
