INEOS has identified a safety related defect relating to door button mechanisms affecting

vehicles covered by this notice. In a proportion of affected vehicles, the door button

mechanism may have been assembled without a sufficient application of grease. This may

allow the exterior door buttons to remain in the depressed position and prevent the door from

fully latching.

Thanks for posting. I've had this issue and inquired about previously, attributed to "new" and should resolve itself.

I called my local dealer's service and it does not seem like they are all recalled. Just earlier VIN's, mine for instance is fine and I have never had the door button issue.

I have the issue but lube it myself with a graphite spray. Question is do I keep doing that or have the dealer take things apart. My concern is they may create new problems or rattles. What do you all think?

Looks like everything after the deliveries started to the USA to my eye.

I had it done today in a dealership, and they replaced all 5 door lock buttons and ignition cylinder, I even got two new car keys.

Will see if this will actually fix the door buttons getting stuck all the time.

Please keep us posted on the fix to see if it actually did work. I’m bringing mine in for an oil change and for them to replace all of the door buttons on Monday.

I have to surrender the old set of keys, I believe they also need to update some system to link the new codes with my VIN number

Rats, well at least you get a fresh battery, in theory.....

Thanks for the heads up Stu. My VIN falls into this range and I’ll be taking it in for the first service soon so I’ll add this to my list of items to address. I’ve had a few issues with sticky handles, mainly in colder temps, so it would be nice to have that resolved.

Yes, real door lock is included in the replacement

There has been reports made to the NHTSA about doors opening whilst the vehicle is in motion. The risk of injury was assessed as low (with the exception of your underpants) because the audible and visual alerts provide notification of an unlatched door.
