Hello,
I’m on a trip in Norway/Sweden heading north, and I’ve encountered an issue with my rear suspension. It seems the rear shock absorber has failed – it’s oily, likely leaked out completely. The dealership informed me that they will replace it under warranty, but since we’re thousands of kilometers away and it’s the holiday season, nothing can be done until at least January 7th, 2025, when vacations are over.

I’d prefer not to cut the trip short. I’m looking for an alternative solution here in Norway or Sweden. I need the original part or potentially a replacement like FOX or KING if anyone has it in stock.

I’m loaded with a roof tent and luggage, approximately 300kg in total. A few days ago, I installed Eibach +30mm springs. Could driving with the failed rear shock cause any additional damage?

Does anyone have any tips or recommendatios?

Seems a little too coincidental that you lost a shock soon after adding the spring lift. Could something have happened there?

Good luck sorting a replacement and have an awesome trip. I spent a little over a week in Sweden / Norway in 2017 and it’s on the absolute top of the list of places to revisit and have a proper amount of time exploring.

Re driving, I can’t offer much advice as the only time I had a broken shock it was a catastrophic failure so we had to replace it almost there and then (luckily had a spare in the group), but the 100km or so we needed to travel where it was shot weren’t pleasant on the corrugations.
Has it completely failed and what sort of roads? Other than hitting the bump stops on large up/downs if it’s just a lack of oil it’s probably just going to be unpleasant and unstable rather than do any serious damage. Slow and steady until you find a solution me thinks.

Any shock absorber with the right holes and extended length will work temporarily.
Not ideal but you should be able to find something at an auto spares place.

they have a chain in sweden called mekonomen that sells car parts. they won't have anything specific for the ineos but if you can use something similar from another vehicle then these guys may be able to get it for you. There seems to be lots of these all over sweden.
