Rear lockable drawer storage at least 7 inches(175km) interior height?

How easy was it to install the drawer system? I imagine the configuration of the rear cargo area is the same on right hand versus left hand drive vehicles and that you have the same 'hidden' storage compartment as we have in the States... I'm assuming the drawer system prevents your ability to access that compartment. Is that correct?

North American Mattress Corp. can design a mattress so that it’s actually two tri-folds, not one big one. So each tri-fold folds up (one hinge on bottom, one on top) to be 26 (26.5)” x 25” x 5”. I assume both sections can then be joined by a zipper or are held together by the force of the interior side walls. They can design it to your specs, pretty ingenious actually.

It was about an hour. Take the boot rails out (I've a Trialmaster), then install two brackets in their place. Take drawer out the unit. The unit has hooks that clip to the brackets with two screws to hold it in place (was the only bit that needed a second pair of hands). The fiddly bit was the infill brackets on the left and right of the box, which then take covers so the whole boot is flat. In hindsight it would have been easier installing the back and middle ones before putting the unit in the car.

Intend to use it to carry shotguns and ammo for the shooting season, so will likely take it out and suspect in future will be 15-20min job to remove/install.

My Gearmate drawer arrived this morning and I installed it over lunchtime. I specified a single drawer but built to the same height as the OEM version:

How tall is the interior of those drawers? What is the measurement for the diagonal on that single drawer?
How do you access the standard storage place for the tire jack?

Well that is odd - I was expecting it to have the same dimensions as Artschool. Anyway 10cm deep (shallower than OEM) and 116cm on the diagonal. It has a wee hatch with a magnet to access the jack. And apologies as I've also posted about it in the OEM drawer system thread.

So they can make a custom height? I need a minimum of 15cm/6inches for a lens hood. Actually, 7 inches for the camera body attached to the lens..

It would be interesting to see how a 2-drawer would work, if the left drawer were the size width of the small door, so you could open the door and use that drawer with out opening both doors…

Like others, I would be very interested in Gearmate's response... I'd be looking for a single drawer that sits level when the rear seats are folded.

The Gearmate/IA solutions do look good, but I have a hard time accepting the additional weight that could be used for equipment, plus the permanent (relative, I admit) loss of non-expedition storage space 🤷

Subscribed, I like the gearmate price quite a lot if it can be had at the dimensions that make it level with the back seat down.

Do you find the interior drawer height (108mm/4.2") sufficient? That is my only concern. I DO like that it completely levels the cargo area when the 2nd row seats are folded down, so you can put a mattress back there and sleep inside the vehicle.

The 'standard' drawer interior height is 6.8", which for me is more practical but the value gained in capacity is lost for flattening the cargo surface for hauling items or sleeping inside the vehicle.

Curious your thoughts... I'm about to pull the trigger and buy this drawer system.

For my requirements it is sufficient. I expect to get a foam insert made to take a shotgun (possibly two) and holes for cups. So nothing too bulky. I guess it just depends what you plan to use it for.

Thank you for your quick reply... I think I'm sold on the same system. I have enough storage on the roof and with the eyebolts that mount to the extrusions on the drawer I should have no problem mounting a pelican box to the top of the drawer platform.

Got my gear mate one, they provided incorrect bolts so had to go to local store for some as was at weekend and already had everything out & there is a slight step up / gap but other than makes a good bed -
