I’ve owned my Grenadier for 24 hours. I drove it yesterday and it worked great. I woke up this morning and while driving it to work a “position error light” was blinking and chiming. After stopping the vehicle, I noticed that the rear driver side, LED outer circumference tail light is out. Pressing on the brake turns on the inner circle, tail light but the error light stays on. It

also causes a chime every few minutes while you’re driving. All the doors are properly closed. Can anyone explain this?

There are brief periods where the light starts to work correctly and the error light goes away. Minutes later it revert back to the error light.

I can’t explain it. But I’ve had the same error and repeated bonging until I turned the truck off. It started, several times, with some combination of being parked, hazard lights on, then driving away and maybe turning on a signal light before turning off the hazards. Turning the truck off cleared it. The dealer could later see an error code logged. But no explanation. Besides “position light error” I’ve also seen “brake light error” a few times. It’s not a loose connection or fuse, at least when the dealer checked.

I’ll have them check it again when I’m in next. It’s annoying. Probably somewhat unsafe because I’m not sure what state my signal or brake lights are left in. But for now at least I know a power cycle rests everything and it works again for a long time.

If the rear light which failed is your normal red rear light it is switched on with the position lights. If it fails the error comes from the position light circuit as these are your rear position lights.

Thank you. Appreciate that. I "hope" the problem happens again soon so I'll note the working/failure of each of the lights around the vehicle. (And leave it with the dealer.) (y)

Had that happen to me after driving thru a "gully washer" of a rain storm late last summer. It came on with a multitude of other lights and for a while my dash looked like a christmas tree! But there was never any variation in drive performance and given I was hours (in the wrong direction) from nearest dealer and all that I had read on the Forum, I kept driving. Yes once engine cut off for respectable time - "Position Light Error" went away. The other lights were related to a failed attempt by a dealer mechanic to straighten out the steering wheel - some one forgot to tighten properly the bolts on the tie rod (?).
Hopefully you can pop back into your dealer and have them sort this out. I am so sorry that this has happened too you so soon after purchase. May I as if you purchased a vehicle that has been on the lot? Or was it a custom built and just delivered?
All the best and better days to come!!
Cheers!

I can confirm that when I had the "Position Light Error" last week, it bonged every fucking minute or less. About a "position light".

Our trucks are stoutly built mechanically, but are princessy anxious about the smallest electrical things. Not helpful.
