Gemini says the réserve battery is of the lead acid type and is rated 2.5 Ah
I suppose it is charged directly by the alternator.
If the main battery drains because whatever. , I suppose something somewhere will prevent the réserve battery from draining?
Your opinion/experience: would this 2.5Ah lead acid be able to start the engine if the main battery was dead?

It slow charges the main battery.

The design is quite odd and there are many other threads on it. I thought I missed out with my field master, but now I realize that I'll be much happier putting in my own system.

Slow charging the main battery!!! That's odd indeed
I think there is some confusion here. Are you referring to the optional extra dual auxiliary battery that sits next to the main starter battery. (which I think, because haven't the dual battery system, is certainly more than 2.5 ah, probably 100ah). In which case it does what the previous threads have stated. Or are you referring to the 2.5ah battery that some vehicles have with a stop/ start system ( aka some previous model LRs ). This battery is only to operate those auxiliaries that are operating when the engine stops in the stop/start function ( wipers, lights, fan etc) However I believe that this small battery system is not used in the Grenadier, ( I could be wrong).

2.5A is about an electric drill battery, not one of these onboard.

The second battery in the factory optioned dual setup is identical to the main starting battery. Who/what is "Gemini"?

Excellent question!
2.5 Ah réserve battery is the answer when I asked Google Gemini. So this is clearly rubbish answer
I do not have the dual battery system either.
Conclusion from your post, I think: there is no reserve battery in case the main battery is dead.
Despite what I thought I had read before
It will teach me(again) to be careful with Gemini's answers

Many cars with start/stop have a smaller battery (usually ~6-15 Ah) often well hidden somewhere inside the dashboard.
If Grenadier doesn't have this it is just fine because I never have understood the reason for this.

The second battery provides a pulse charge to keep the main battery topped up via the Ctek 120s. In cases where both batteries are getting low, the Ctek device couples both batteries to provide sufficient juice to start the engine. The Ctek also enables the alternator to charge up to 140amps when required.

Many thanks
I was not aware of the role of Ctek.
Quite instructive-Very useful
I'll look up to understand this Ctek
