XSEPC have had pre rego GVM upgrade for some time. More 4x4 seem to be offering 450kg moire on the GVM. It is nice to have more choices.

It is, but there was discussion to add other states and they told me NSW was close (but then it went quite). Also JRACE Industries also claim to have ADR approval, pre and post rego, but post rego is only for Qld, NSW and Vic.
A local guy in WA inquired about the GVM upgrade and EXP said that they had to fit the springs for them to give you the plate. We have about a dozen or more owners with the same suspension fitted, be interested to see if locally we can get someone to plate our vehicles.
The main issue seems to be getting the engineer to sign off. That was the issue with XHQ.
There wasn't much in the conversation unfortunately.
The problem I had with XHQ was a NSW based engineer to sign off (the one they used moved to Qld from Northern NSW).

Look at this thread, under the heading SUSPENSION - GVM UPGRADE AU. Short answer there is more than one option, but it depends on the state.
Expedition HQ kit is not a Federal Type Approval (commonly known as a Pre Rego approval or SSM) as such requires state certification in QLD or NSW. I can confirm the only Pre Rego kit approved in Australia for the Grenadier/Quartermaster is the JRace Industries 4000kg Kit which is available through JRace in QLD or More 4x4 in NSW, installed Pre or Post registration.
Expedition HQ (or part of the Group) are an SSM. I was told this by one of the owners. The Group needs to be to register the massive SLRV expedition vehicles they make. They also have a specific version of the Grenadier called the the Grenadier XSpec, which I have seen on some government database previously. I cannot remember where now. Their GVM kit goes to 3,800kg, not sure if they offer higher GVM, it may under the XSpec label but that is all offline, not on the website.
Type Approvals are public information and can be searched. They may hold or have held SSM approvals for other vehicles however they have never held or had access to an SSM for the Ineos Grenadier or Quartermaster. This has been confirmed directly by the certifier who holds their State Level Design Approval in QLD. Only two Pre Rego SSM Approvals exist for the Ineos, 1. The OEM Manufacturer and 2. JRace Industries.
I was under the impression a plated SSM GVM upgrade only allows the kit installed to be replaced with the same components when repaired because it is a federally tested and approved system. Adding a lift later on does this mean you can only use the JRace approved springs and shock absorbers to keep the vehicle legal?
The JRace GVM Approval does not change the factory springs and shocks.
What does JRace change to upgrade the GVM for the SSM and who is responsible for the powertrain warranty if there is a fault? Other brands are now knocking back warranties on the higher gvm upgrades.
