Last week I went to my dealership in Belgium to spec a QM.

The roller tonneau cover was still available as option, price was €3402 without VAT, rather expensive.
I would like to know if anybody has found a alternative option to close up the pick up bed?

Mine has one but it’s $4500.00 US they are supposed to remove it for me but now I’m debating. I really like it. But it seems expensive.

It does seem expensive. I had one for my Raptor. They are nice but know that the “box” it has to roll into takes up @9 inches worth of bed space from front to back and the full width of the bed. The Raptor had a 5.5’ bed so with the ‘box’, I was left @4.5’ of usable length. 5.5’ is already short and I’ll be honest, there were many times I wish I had use of the full length of the bed.

The pros are that the top can be rolled back to any position and locked, so if you have an item that sticks out, unlike other tops, you can roll it back as far as you need and then lock it. There was also the option to add load bars above the roll top, similar to what you’d put on your roof, while still being able to open/close the roll top underneath.

The other popular option is a tri-fold top that can be opened from the back, one panel at a time or all three giving you full access to the bed. The downside for some is that when all three are open it completely covers your rear window and even though you can lock each panel, it’s not as adjustable as the roll top.

The cool thing about both of them was that they will support weight. IIRC, the roll top I had supported up to @500lbs. I used o stand on mine often (@220lbs). It also always kept everything dry even during the strongest downpours. Speaking of water, if you have water sitting on top, say after a rain, the roll top has drain tubes in the box I mentioned that connect to the drains in your bed. No need to clean any of it off.

IMHO, the decision on which to get should be based on what you’re gonna use your bed for and if you want/need the use of the full length of the bed.

It’s on the online config tool now - about the same price, all in (you have to add the double bars to hold the spare wheel above the cover)

"Have" to add to hold your spare?

or

"Required" to add for the order to be excepted.

Just wanted to clarify as you know how manufacturers can be. Many years ago, I had to order leather so that I could also order a sunroof. The fabric seats were nicer than the leather.

Where would the spare go if you didn’t have the carrier bars? I guess “have to” is not correct - they’re bundling the 2 (the cover and the spare carrier), but you obviously can’t carry the spare sitting upright in the bed when you have the cover. I suppose some swing-out hitch mount would be possible???

When ordering it on line when building the QM, I believe you have to buy the rack that goes above the cover. You can probably order post delivery and then throw the tire in bed until you figure out how to carry. You options are really a hitch, a new bumper with a offset, the rack or the roof. All this if you want to use the bed.

I know it is new but a swing away carrier is an option. If you are using the bed to its fullest with the cover open the tire and cross bars would in the way.
You want one offset because the rear camera and brake light are center of the tail gate.

Il hope other options for something like this wil come to marked soon, stil debating about a cover of canopy at this moment.

Options are to limited to make a decision

Expediation HQ's FB page (Australia) is showing a new EGR Rolltrac (roller tonneau cover) for the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster.

New product not on EHQ or EGR's website as yet.

Seems to be the same as Ineos provides when you spec it:

Probably made by EGR for INEOS, or at least designed by them.
