Looks like I’m gonna be a victim of the tariff circumstance. I currently have a deposit down with a dealer to close in mid April and I cannot get there before end of month, unfortunately.

I’m being told by a good source at a dealership that all the programs are ending and they’re going to reinvest that money to buy down the tariffs. Totally makes sense, but it seems to reason if you have a deposit and you’re going to have a transaction they would honor it.

I guess there is a wild possibility that this is creating some urgency over the weekend to try and close as many deals as possible, and they in fact, leave everything alone, but who knows.

you should call other dealerships and see if they have what you want. I heard the same thing today!

Both dealerships have what I want and both have excellent deals, but I cannot get to there before the months end unfortunately because I am out of town. I’m told a deal cannot close without me being in person since I’m out of state.

The crazy thing here is they had to offer so much money on 24’s to get them sold, only now to be in a position where 24s will be going back up and that will be likely what someone would buy if they’re in the market in lieu of ordering a new 25 with the tariffs. Once all the 24s are gone I can’t even imagine anyone’s gonna buy or pay for a 25 at the new Price.

Since COVID, they are able to do a Docusign deal over phone and email/internet verification, so the paperwork is dated pre EOM. Ask your dealer to do so. They have this ability. I know, because that’s what we did. This is also standard for out of area people too…

I’ll definitely ask, but I was told that the delivery date is what they use for incentives. Who knows if I’m being fed a line or not.

That’s probably true, as the old adage is, it doesn’t trip until the taillights hit the street, pulling out of dealership. But, usually, if all paperwork is done, signed and paid, they will go for it.

You should be able to close the deal without being there... When we bought our Sprinter from MA everything was handled via UPS and I walked in, was handed keys and a quick walk around and that's it.

When I bought my Grenadier from Regal, there were a few documents I signed in person, but I don't see why that couldn't be done remotely, just like if they were selling the vehicle to someone on the opposite side of the country and it was being loaded on a transport truck for delivery

All of this could be true, but I’m told that the delivery date is what they look at for incentives. This could be a total line to get me to end my trip but that’s not happening.

Could you get it “delivered” into a storage facility until you can make it there?

This is exactly what I was going to say. Have it delivered somewhere safe. I know lots of people that close out of state car purchases and simply have them shipped to them. Just be more demanding.

Interesting! I literally got an email last night from my dealer advertising $3k off, plus $2.5k off for owners of defenders, broncos, jeeps, plus 2.9% financing, plus $2k accessory credit on 2024s. Are they just rolling back any 2025 incentives (actually i dont even know if there are any of those) or are they planning on removing the 2024 incentives too? Maybe my dealer is just trying to get a few last deals through the door before they lose those incentives.

I thought those incentives were to go away at the end of February, prompted me to close a deal before the end of February. Not surprised that they are still running to get rid of 24's on the lots before the 25's start arriving. I just checked my dealer (RDS) and they are still advertising what you mention on 24's in stock.

The situation is removing of programs at the end of this month on 24’s is what I’m being told. Supposedly no programs on 24’s April 1.
So for me, if this is true, that means I will be bailing on my deal as I’m not paying $7500 more for a 2024.

Heh same thing for me, only for me the incentives on ‘24s were smaller and the ‘expiration date’ was Dec 31st/Jan 1st. I think they might actually mean it this time
