Had my first round of chemo today. On the way to the Dr., I was discussing the Grenadier with my wife, and how I thought they'd set the pricing just out of our reach. After a brief discussion, she gave me the go ahead. We do all major purchases together, as she's much more careful with money than I am.

Anyway:
Trialmaster, Magic Mushroom, Safari Windows, Black Leather, Saddle Leather Driver's Pack, Winch bumper, Tow package, Side Runner Steps, Rear Door Table, Privacy Glass, Spare Wheel Lockable Storage Box, Checker Plates.

Total price: $92,875.00

I selected the dealer in Salt Lake City, UT. Their state vehicle sales tax rate was 0.25% less than the closer California dealers.

I selected the dealer in Salt Lake City, UT. Their state vehicle sales tax rate was 0.25% less than the closer California dealers.

When you register it in California, you have to pay remaining 0.25% to get the plates. If you register in Utah with California plates using the dealer or a third party service, you have to pay California sales tax anyway

No reason to register it in either UT or CA. I'm from AZ. I'll get a temp plate from UT and head for home. We might spend the night depending on how long the transaction takes.

Our state tax is 5.6 % / 6.1% in the city of Tucson and if I've paid anywhere else higher than that, AZ charges nothing more for the sale. They get a heavy (IMHO) registration tax based on value every year, though.

Finished first round of chemo last week and ended up getting 2 units of packed rbc's yesterday. I was almost in the spontaneous heart attack from lack of oxygen range. (HGB 6.6). Anyway, feel better today.

Grenadier related: Heading home yesterday from getting the transfusion, SWMBO asked if she's going to get to use the Grenadier (with a smile and a twinkle in her eye). I told her that if she drove it more than her Subi Ascent, she'd have to get her own - and that the pickup was coming out next rear or so. She said we just might have to get one of each. I think we're a good match.

@evomind Welcome to the forum. Great folks here and all most too much info. Ask if you have any questions. I may not get back real quick, but I'll get back.

There are a few Tucsonans here. Hope we can all get together with our Grenadiers and explore the area. I was in the USBP, just retired in December. All of my off-roading has been work related, so I'm not real savvy yet. Mostly just forest service roads and jeep trails, as far as my experience. I want to get out and see areas near where I used to work, but never went: Sonoita, Arivaca, Patagonia as well as 4x4 meccas like Zion.
