I haven’t read/heard a lot about PDM in the 4-wheel vehicle world but it’s pretty common in motorcycles. It’s basically a unit that hooks up to your battery and after that all connections for lights, aftermarket usb, heated clothing adapters, etc…get wired into the PDM. It has build in “fuses” that protect the vehicles CANBUS and other devices that are hooked up in case there’s an issue.

Each PDM connection is then programmable to come on individually with a choice of switched ignition initiation, delayed by 30sec to minimize the initial draw during start up (can be important for motorcycles), or some other user defined choice. The same goes for when you turn the ignition off…the PDM can be programmed to turn off with switched power, delayed by your choice of time, or constant on.

I’m looking to add USBs to the front and rear, Wolf box 900P, and additional interior rear lighting and thought a PDM would be a good choice. I don’t need/want additional switches or else I’d be giving SwitchPros a serious look. I hesitate that I might be missing something because it’s not discussed outside of motorcycle circles.

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. This is what I installed on my last few bikes. Newer versions have Bluetooth connectivity to make on the fly device changes.
