I was late to the party, so reservation done in April. I was busy trying to find or order a suitable HD pickup and then decided I was tired of Pickups. Never mind the dealers telling me that their trucks are made of platinum and gold.

I look forward to Ineos' customer service oriented approach.  Too many companies thinking they can get away with scalping customers.  When the economy turns, they'll be begging us for business.

I’ll be moving to Vancouver BC next year, currently in SLC, Utah. I reserved mine on the early reservation list.

I’m wondering if there’s benefit to organizing a group buy in Oregon on account of no sales tax? I know others would have to pay taxes upon registering in other home states, but maybe there’s so benefit to purchasing here? Or purchasing add-ons sans sales tax?

That would make sense if there is a dealer in Oregon.

I might have misunderstood, and it’s also true it isn’t settled, but won’t BMW dealerships be a purchase point?

Portland here!  Reserved one the first week of October.

Most dealers are familiar with selling across states and handle the taxes for you.  If you buy in state A and reside (will register the vehicle in) state B, they charge state B taxes and forward it along for you.

One weird exception - I bought a used car in CA, with the intent to register it in VA.  I was charged CA sales tax (dealer told me he had to), and when I registered in VA, VA refunded me the difference between CA sales tax and VA sales tax (and presumably deals with CA to get the money?).
