Overland Journal and the Grenadier

There is a whole thread on here about ASPW from over a ear ago.
Basically from memory he raved about it and then they didn't give him one to test so he backpedaled and said it wasn't very good.
There wasnt a single offroader that didnt get excited by the hype of a true truck being introduced and praised all the attributes it was said to posess. White wanted one to test on a trip but he also had reservations and said as much. In the end this truck CANNOT be configured to permit living in the interior in the manner his travel has evolved, and it would be a huge compromise. Extended travel in this truck is less "troopy" and more Mercedes w123 wagon.

With the elctronics under the rear seat, no fold flat floor, and the cargo trim, yea, of course it'll be a minimalist build out, because I'm not sure anything else is an option.

The two seat version has a completely flat rear floor are and still has batteries etc under the floor.
His mates from Alu-Cab in South Africa are making a roof top conversion for it.
There is a long wheelbase version coming which will match his Troopy version.
He wanted to be treated as an expert by Ineos as if he was "advising them"
I understand completely this was a smart move by him to improve the standing of his YouTube channel
When they said no he threw himself on the ground, held his breath and waved his arms and legs about.

For sure the Grenadier will be a superb vehicle for Overlanding, so long as you can afford the minimum of £65,000 necessary to purchase one.

That certainly puts it out of my reach. But it seems there's plenty of people for whom that price isn't a problem. At least the vehicle will last decades, unlike many modern vehicles.

Fortunately for me my Defender had appreciated In value quite significantly so allowing the purchase of a Grenadier 😎

That post is like a post-race interview - think NASCSR, SuperCross, etc - where they name every sponsor before saying anything related to the question.

”Wow, great race Bruce, tell us about that last pass on the final lap.”

”Well, my Dr. Pepper, BF Goodrich, Fox Racing, Momo Steering wheel was feelin great. Coming into the bend my Recaro seat was gripping me right and I could feel the Brembo brakes dig in...”

Not sure what he means by “crossed over 10,000 km”
His vehicle now has >10,000kms on it. He drove the same Grenadier for a while in the UK, and it was previously used in the Scotland media drive

Looks like Scott dumped the (stupid?) idea to use bladders for fuel storage (that he touted on his preparation podcast!) and went with (tied and true!) Gerry cans!
Someone asked that question. he said he is still using the bladders too. They are in the back

Kudos to the sponsors, but, man, that's some bougie clothing. I checked out their site. I could get a plain white Crew neck T-shirt on sale for $100. I do like how Scott and, I am guessing, Joe are so very complimentary with their shirts and scarves. "No, you need to take the tan scarf so we can be the inverse of each other. It'll look cool in the pic."

I think those are Shemaghs.

Mine too, although l ended up with a new Defender.
One day l will have a Grenadier, l could get one now if it was classed as Commercial by HMRC, because of the tax savings.
But l'll have to wait.

Enjoy the new Defender. I’m sure we’ve both made the right choice for our particular uses. 😎
