Outdoor temperature sensor

Does anyone know how to reset the outdoor temperature sensor? Mine is stuck at 62F -- I didn't notice until today when the Bay Area at 11am is already a balmy 84F. I wonder if that sensor is also making the 'auto' function in the AC be so unreliable.

Following questions may seem odd, but try to roll with it.

Did it last through a key cycle (giving the vehicle >8 minutes with the doors locked and key off)? By chance are your inclinometers in "calibrating"? (the last vehicle I saw do this they were stuck in calibrating status).

The other times I've heard of people having this issue it rectifies it self within a few hours of driving/key on usually
