Please tell me the UK isn’t getting the American orange sidelights. That’s one way to ruin any vehicle

I've always pulled those pieces and painted them. Never been bothered by the cops here. Regulations for regulation's sake which largely serve to drive up the cost of vehicles.

Looks like a reflector in other pictures but could be an indicator lamp
Some people use them to let other road users know what they are doing
Other people don't know what they are doing so have nothing to share

Here in the US, you are required to have marker lights when the vehicle reaches a certain height of 80 inches and 80 inches width including mirrors. IG is 84 inches with mirrors These markers have light up

Even small cars need(ed) the aesthetically ruinous side lamps and impact bumpers that made it look like a 10 year old's learner dodgem car!

I was told at the last drive day that we were getting reflectors on the side corners in Australia, not lights.

From the video I saw they are reflectors on the bumper, indicators on the fender

For clarification on US cars, I've only had reflectors, not lights, on those I've purchased here. Amber turn signals are typically incorporated into head lamps and mirrors, not standalone on a body panel.

But I think, in some capacity, the turn signal must be visible from the side. So if it's not on the Gren, I guess those orange areas could be lit and blink.

Yeah, if they decide to just make it their turn signal, all you can do to improve looks is put on a clear/tinted cover and an amber led bulb

Upper looks like indicator light, lower looks like reflector
Good catch. If the lower is just a reflector - it's plasti-dip time!

edit - not sure if plasti-dip is sold outside NA, but it's a rubberized "paint" that is easily removable and great for blacking out emblems and such.

I’ll need to look for that “paint”, it’ll be just the thing the flag emblem needs.

Edit: typo
