Just seen their advert with "rock climbing'
I understand why they're doing it but looks a bit ridiculous, doesn't it

Is this the commercial?

I think it's one of the better looking NDs I've seen but they're still not my cup of tea. And starting at $152,000!

"Raptorized" Defender 110..

Looks Cool, Ridiculously priced, BMW 4.4 V8 is a marvelous engine to drive, but prone to many issues. Of course, most people who can afford to purchased vehicles at this price point don't keep them long enough to care..

Most likely to be seen at the golf course or at the football training ground.

I'll tell you this no one on land rover forum is complaining they made the entire video with CGI

I’m sure it is a lot of fun to drive. Certainly very good looking but massively overpriced. I wonder what the dealer markup on these is going to be?

I would also be very concerned about taking this much tech off-road. Of course, that applies to any modern JLR product.

I put a few thousand miles offroad in my '22 Defender, it wasn't concerning at all not an issue. Even including difficult trails around Moab (i don't really enjoy rock crawling just to do it, but when in Rome). Just my personal experience, its a really solid platform and 'the tech' makes it more competent off road than most offroaders :) The terrain response system is world class.

150k is way too rich for my blood though. These have be marketed at desert running Emiratis lol

Just a gut feeling, but the is the direction IA WANTS to go. Trying to move upstream in cost and "swank" while increasing profit margins and getting away from the built for purpose mantra.

If presented with the choice I would likely get this over the new Gwagon because I'm thinking it's much more fun and capable,. It does suffer from looking like a 65g defender, and having the same defenders interior, too large of rims, and, going up against a ford Raptor at -70g, but, if I set either or parameters, that's where it ranks.

It would be funny to see someone set this up as a desert racer, going out with a bunch of SxS desert demons. I guess we would find out soon enough how tough a new Defender could really be.

Very much doubt. At least didn't help this one in snow. Only one that had severe problems all day

And hardly made an uphill at try number 12, which was just a piece of cake for Series II 88" and Discovery 1 -92 ...

I love the idea of the BMW V8 I have had a few and still have one, amazing engine. I'd be interested in this but it would be a grocery getter for me and the Grenadier is my offroad toy.
