Was a couple of weeks ago I think. I only check from time-to-time. Only Ineos know the reasons, but I speculate:

- people are cancelling their orders
- certain markets are being prioritised
- anticipated production ramp-up is improving
- it's a marketing strategy (to offer 'best-case' delivery), then under-deliver, given current car waiting times

I suspect 1 and 2

Yes I agree its probably more #1.

I have been keeping my eye on this, and noticing the timeframes between ordering and build dates are becoming closer and closer.
I think if someone was to place an order today, then they would end up getting perhaps an April/May 23 build slot.
When I placed my first order in May 22, I received an April 23 build slot, which was revised down to February 23 build slot.
When I placed a subsequent order in August 22, I received an August 23 build slot, which has since been revised down to April 23.

Based on their estimated build capacity in the first year, and their original "we have 15,000 orders" (hand raising orders), it is obvious that only a small percentage of these have actually turned into "deposits taken" from motivated buyers at this point.

Plus the reporter regards conversion from $800 reservation into $5000 deposit as a "formal order" (which it isn't).

I think he's right ~ it became a formal order with the 2nd deposit, it's just fully refundable prior to signing the contract.

"orders" are only indicative of the number of contracts... could be a lot of speculators out there.

I got a call mid September out of the blue asking what state I wanted it registered in.

The Diesel WLTP has come back to 10.5L/100km on my vehicle, it was at 11.1 prior. (BFG Tyres)

I spoke with a rep on the INEOS helpline 4 hours ago and asked why my build month has been deleted.

He said it was connected to the rescheduling of production due to the delay but he did not know when the production dates would be reinstated.
