A bit of background, followed by a question ...

I've just purchased an OBDLink CX Bluetooth OBD Adapter, as shown here: https://www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-cx/

Rather than using the suppliedOBDLink app, I'm using the Car Scanner app (which is CarPlay compatible), shown here: https://apps.apple.com/au/app/car-scanner-elm-obd2/id1259933623

I’ve set it up to show the parameters that were of interest to me, from the available choices.

The appearance on the infotainment screen complements the screen's design theme nicely.

What I’d like to know is … Will it be possible to set things up so that I can see the DPF%, as in how full the DPF is, so that I know when it’s about to do a burn?

I know nothing about PIDs etc, so if it's possible, I’ll need detailed instructions. 🙂

If you display the sensor readings for DPF inlet flow and DPF outlet flow it will give you a view of how much soot is present.
I haven't worked out how much difference between the two triggers a regeneration, you will just have to watch it and see over a few weeks.

That confirms the data requests made over in the console screen thread can be made visible on the console screen, like EGT, letting us know when a DFP burn is in operation, etc I don't need to fit gauges to get this data.

Way cheaper to buy that device and the app.

Thanks for your help. I seem to be able to get “DPF Delta Pressure”, so I’ll keep an eye on that. 🙂

Hi Michael

Out of interest my obd2 scanner causes the cruise control to drop out and a check engine light to come on while at highway speeds if I press connect while driving.
Doesn’t seem to upset anything really and a restart always clears check engine light.
Other than that it is a great reference tool.
Have you had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance
Ranga

Hi Ranga

I get error messages (including the check engine light) if I connect while driving, so I’m now in the habit of connecting while stationary.

I still get temporary error messages on the main screen when I connect, but only for a couple of seconds.

I haven’t noticed the cruise control issue, but I'll check it out.

Still hoping someone can let me know if it's possible to display DPF%, so I’ll know when a burn is coming up.

Cheers,
Michael
