Minneapolis Dealer

Does anyone know if there are plans to open a dealer in Minneapolis? I have heard that they have plans for it, but don't know if true or if it's still a ways off. May end up moving back there later this year so would be nice to have a dealer in the area.

Haven’t heard anything - it would make sense as a dealer location. I would expect to see Twin Cities, and either St Louis or KC. Maybe Indianapolis? That would kind of round out the Midwest, along with the Cleveland, Chicago and Michigan locations. Honestly what I would LOVE to see would be a “dealer in a box” concept - like Apple with BestBuy. To really make service practical, they need much broader coverage than a limited number of dealers - just do it with BMW or something like that. They could restrict it to service and parts (not sales or accessories) so it doesn’t compete for sales with their dealers. I realize parts stocking is the major issue with this idea - if there’s a big service network, you can’t expect all of them to carry parts stock for the extreme low volume - it would have to be in regional stocking locations, so service would usually take 2-3 days if it required parts and not something like oil changes etc.
