Maybe a new owner

Mine is a July 2024 build and has been fantastic. I have had it all over southern Utah and the eastern sierra. It is incredibly capable off road as long as you get the lockers. It is very comfortable on road considering that it is truly an off road first design. My Range Rover L405 was more comfortable but far less capable.

As others have mentioned, the software could you some refinement. I have never had it go black on me or fail to work. I have also never had any leaks or any other problems. The newer builds seem to have the early issues worked out.

My A/C works just fine but the auto setting is slow to react and often I switch to manual mode to put in max cooling mode and the switch to Auto after I’m comfortable. I’m in SoCal so it does get hot here. In Florida I might suggest getting the white roof option and tinted window. I’m considering putting a white wrap on my roof before summer hits here. It will help keep the interior cooler when it is parked in the sun.
 
Forums tend to show "issues" regardless of the manufacturer.

People do not tend to come to forums and say, "I drove my car to work today, nothing to report." The Bissel owner's forum isn't riddled with "my vacuum doesn't suck" threads. Or maybe it does, depending on how you just read that.
Yup, it’s called self selection bias. Read any car forum and you will think that every car model on the road is falling apart.

Agreed, but when I see numerous a/c doesn't work correctly I get a bit concerned.

True but some things are real, I remember back in the day the Porsche 911 had that IMS bearing issue. I read about it and said this is over blown, it wont happen to me. It did!!! IMS bearing went out just like people said.

So yes, it is where people come to get help and complain, but some of it is valid.

I've had mine 14 months and 18k miles. My a/c stopped cooling about 6k miles ago right as I was taking it in for the first service. Crown purged and filled the system. Since then, it has been fantastic.

I lived the IMS as well. The Grenadier doesn’t have any catastrophic issues. Porsche had engines blowing up and chose to completely ignore customers. Ford has had 2.7L engines in Broncos and Rangers blowing up and has had to recall them. The Grenadier hasn’t had that sort of problem.

Whether they are worth it or not is a personal choice.

You’ve recognized they are first generation (although that is a loose description as here in the US there are three “revisions” within model year 2024, in addition to the RoW 2023 models), which inherently comes with risks and issues.

I would tell any potential owner that there is a chance you will have issues, but for the extreme majority of owners the issues experienced are annoyances and not critical issues.

It is a fantastic vehicle for what it was designed to do (off highway travel), which can make up for a lot of faults; unfortunately a lot of dealers aren’t properly preparing customers for what they are buying, or potential buyers are hoping it is something it isn’t (luxury, plush, etc)
Is there a place where the OP can go to see the iterations and what was remedied? Might help him decide.

There again, if you're gonna put a roof rack on it, roof color matters less.

FYI the “white” roof is the Scottish White, JIC you didn’t know. Looks good IMHO on blues, green, red, and black.

YMMV, but I vinyl wrapped my Raptor roof black and it started to flake after 4-5yrs. Unfortunately I don’t know the brand of the vinyl. I also don't know if that's normal, environmental, or install related.
 
I have spent about 2 yours reading each category of technical forum topics. I know this is a first generation, but are these worth $80k+ for all these issues?

I mean, each category is riddled with issues.

Thoughts?

May I ask, what are your interests in the Grenadier and have you owned or own a 4x4 at the moment? What would be the main use of the Gren if you were to purchase one? I only ask because the majority of owners have bought theirs for the vehicle's overall ability and good looks which has been designed and developed with quality written all over it. My Gren is 45000klms and has had issues but nothing that can't be fixed, I am waiting for a call from the service dept of the Ineos Agent with regards to a replacement of a oil supply hose to the turbo but not an issue they have the part. My airconditioner is fine by the way and living on my home ground in Australia it would want to be but that's not to say it may need attention in time who knows? I have already had the Transfer case replaced, that's life owning any vehicle.:)

As with all manufacturers, internal revisions are exactly that, internal. It is up to the customers to figure out the changes
 
Thanks for all the input. I actually think it is the coolest vehicle I have seen in 20 years. I'm old school and love buttons and knobs.

As fas as value, I get it is highly subjective. I like watches and if you don't, you will not see the value in a mechanical watch.

Yes, I'm going to get my hands on one for a test drive. I hesitate just because I'll want to keep it :)

A test drive will be dangerous.

You will be very unlikely to drive away without leaving a deposit with the dealer.

My (useless) advice is to leave all your cards at home.

I must admit its the looks and interior most of all. I think its an X between a defender and a G wagon. I also like the old school knobs and buttons. I like the G wagon but its almost to techy. I like the old school simple look and feel. I think the last best year for the G Wagon was 2012. No computer screen in it . . . But the INEOS styling is the best of both worlds.

It's the price really, I'm not a rich man and $80K+ is a lot for something we dont even know how the value will hold up. Or for that matter how long they will be in business.
