Looking to purchase a UK Vintage License Plate for my IG - need help

My state does not have front license plate requirement and I am planning on getting a UK license plate to put on. I have done some research and decided I would like to purchase a vintage plate from the 1940s (to reference WWII and the Land Rover prototype that was built on a Jeep chassis) and was issued from the London District Code (to reference the location of the Grenadier Pub). I can find a lot of information about the current numbering system, but not so much from the 40s. I do know I should be looking for 2-3 Letters starting the plate, but I have not been able to determine what was London District Code at that time. I have looked on eBay and found the following claiming to be London Plates:

DLF 721
HM 36
DLR 843
MYH 9
GH 2027
HLD 26

Did London have several District Codes at that time?

Yes, I know I am way overthinking this, but I do like to have items that have a story/meaning.

London in the time of pea-soupers and Lyons Cafes tended to have a G, L, M or Y first letter. There were a lot of codes.

Land Rovers operated by the factory usually were registered in Solihull, (Coventry) so AC, DU or HP.

Just to add to the fun, an extra letter was usually added at the start of the letters, so "1 DAY" is a Leicestershire plate, as is "DAY 1".

In the UK we can get "show" plates made up with anything by mail order, so save your money from eBay. I'm fond of the pressed aluminium plates valid for a pre '73 vehicle, like my Morgan. These have been around for a bit, not a recommendation; https://www.myshowplates.com/
