I've seen the one from Australia for $500. A bit rich for me, and shipping is spendy...
Anyone have a pointer for a mount suitable for the ladder for the hi-lift?

I have a roof rack mount but I'm trying to keep the weight off the roof rack.

There are plenty of tube mounts for hi lift jack like this one attached. Inc cheaper on Amazon and eBay.

Do they not get filthy and go rusty keeping them outside the vehicle? If at all possible I think I’d rather try and store it securely somewhere inside. I used to keep one under the back seats of my defender 110, zip tied to the seat frame, obviously that’s not an option in the Grenadier…

They do but I keep well maintained when on my travels. And use lanoguard when in storage between travels.

Mine was in the same place. When I can find a ladder, the hiLIft will go one side and my rigid tow bar on the other.

I've seen these, they seem designed for the vertical bar, I want to mount on the horizontal bars (the steps) as it seems like a more secure location and if a screw ever wanders loose i think there is less risk that I'll smash the hi lift into my trunk door. The Australian hi lift mount is attached to the steps and that seems appropriate to me.

I guess I could buy them and see if they line up with spacing appropriate for the steps but I was hoping someone already had tested it.

Happy to send you a set of these to try:

Now we're talking! This looks very much like what I'm looking for!

I'm going to order a set!

EDIT: @DVA Mechanics I just ordered the set. I'll make a review once I get it setup. :)

Can’t wait to hear! If they don’t match your application for any reason, we will happily return them. They will ship today (Wednesday).

They look legit. I like the idea of putting the hi-lift in the middle of the ladder so I can still climb the ladder.

Thanks for shipping so quickly, it would be cool to install over the weekend.

Have you mocked these up with your jerry can holder on the back ladder? Seems like 2 sets would be required?

Edit: did a little more digging and found the jerry can setup :)

More than mocked it up - it’s on the back of my IG right now and looks amazing. 😄

I have had these on my 1988 Land Cruiser for 10 years. I attached them to my ARB roof Rack. They worked perfectly all those years and I live on the coast. The only thing that ever rusted at all were the bolts which i changed to stainless steel.

Got my hi-lift attached ot the mount from DVA mechanics. I'm going to post a review in the vendors thread.

I bought two pairs of the DVA Mechanics clamps, but I’m mounting them to the side of the ladder with the flange extending towards the drivers side. That way the ladder will be free of obstruction. Will post pics when completed.

that was my plan as well. The mount sticks out just a touch too much for that to work without hitting the car at full open. Or at least that's what it looked like when i tried it at first. would love to see what you come up with.
