Locking gas strut - large rear door

Not yet buddy.. I am clearly the only one who has a scenario where this affects them.

I need to find the ti e and see if I can get a match for one of the locking sleeves that go over the existing strut. Well it looks like they do.
There are more of us. Ours won’t lock on even the gentlest of slopes. It has hit us and the custom draw set up numerous times. It is dangerous and someone (child) is going to get hurt. Dealer says it is ‘normal’. It is a law suit waiting to happen - not fit for purpose.

A locking strut is probably a good idea if you go with a bigger than OEM tire as well.

If you want to lock the rear door strut, it is quite simple.

Open the door to whatever angle you want.
Give is a wiggle, maybe half an inch in and out.
It is now locked.
A hard push is needed to shut the door again.
I’ve just tried this and it works 😁. You learn something new every day.
