I have the Grenadier Rhino Rack Roof Bars and I'm looking at how to load my Mont Blanc cargo box onto it. Has anyone used U clamps to attach a roof box to the RR bars? I haven't seen them sold that wide! I only use the roof box 2-3 times per year so don't want it (or the cross bars) permanently mounted. If the cargo box can only be mounted with T bolts or T nuts, is there a packaged RR solution that I can buy? I'm based in the UK and struggling to find where i can buy it. Thanks, Warren

You don't need U bolts ...simply buy T-bolts, slide them into the roof bar track, thread them through the cargo box and secure them with panel washers and domed nuts ( to preclude damage to contents).

i have a thule roof box that used to clamp over my old roof bars. thule sell a tbolt conversion kit. maybe give mont blanc a call?

Thank you. Do you know if the T tracks are a standard size on the top of the RR cross bars? So will Thule T bolts fit; I've seen that they sell a fitting pack with plates and thumb nuts.

I got these stainless steel tee bolts from Amazon and used them for mounting all my stuff to the Rhino cross bars. They work great. I went through the Rhino website and talked with them but their bolts were stupid expensive and wouldn’t work for me.

I had eight 3/16” thick by 2” by 4” flats plates cut with 1/4” holes in the center to sandwich the plastic floor of my Yakima Rocket box down to the cross bars at four corners.

Thank you for sharing ShootingCar. I found some U bolts that should fit and I'm going to give them a try. The main reasons for choosing them are: 1) I usually load the cargo box single handed; I'm a big guy but the cargo box is large and awkward so I just want to lift it over my head and slide/chuck it on the rails without aligning with T bolts. 2) the end caps of the RR bar look plasticy and weak so I just want to set the bars up once and leave the caps on permanently - I'll either break them or lose them! 3) The bars will probably be noisy so I want to fill as much of the T slot gaps with the rubber strips as possible. If the U bolts fit/work OK, then I’ll post a link to them on this thread. Warren
