Hi
If the vavlvotronic system fails, is the limp mode automatically activated or should it be activated manually(disconnect electric,Allen key at the back of servovmotor to lift the' primary cam?
Pierre

If there is any system failure that deems limp mode, it will activate by itself

Ok, many thanks
Interesting,this vavlvotronic system
I just start to understand how it works.
So complex!

Good technical info on how it operates here if your insomnia is biting hard.

TLDR: Many fault modes, many scan codes, fairly reliable system but a PITA and probably expensive to repair if it goes bad.

Another good argument for frequent oil and filter changes.

Actually, it may worthwhile trying to reset the valvetronic system first before diving deeper.
Here's a "how to" which may be applicable

Limp mode activation is automatic when your foot slips off of an icy sidestep rail and you tweak your ankle getting out of the vehicle. Feature is built right in how lucky is that? :)
I see you have discovered this feature, they are lethal as soon as the air temperature drops to zero. ( for me that usually means Nov to Mar)

They are indeed lethal… waiting for the slice your shin open feature to show up when you go to step in and your foot slips off.
