Didn’t read it, but I get the sentiment. Frankly, why let Mercedes have the high end true 4x4 market all to itself? Though I did see something that says that G-wagon prices are coming off their highs.

As long as they keep base models that aren’t crazy priced, I’m fine with it. It will be interesting to see how these high end ones move. As long as I can get a 3-locker, electric cable installed base that I can then up-armour, I’m good.

What I really want is a 2 door or the ‘Safari’ cloth top version. Two door jeeps just have such a short wheelbase, especially the older ones.

Last time I was in a G wagon (few weeks ago, MY24) I saw nothing about it that was off road.

I’d have to agree that the Arcane (unlike the AMG) just makes the IG a full fledge mom wagon. AMG seems to make it a bit more macho especially for those compensating for something (and you know who you are:).

So much out there in this space….if I were Jimmy I would have doubled down on the off road capability. Also, I don’t see the Arcane being something that you drive over 100 without some massive changes to the current configuration ie: Not a fan of the Dongfeng but the drone idea sounded fun…scout out the trail in advance.
