Where are you seeing these rumors? Given that its a privately held company, I'm not sure anyone but an insider would be able to accurately comment.

I could see that Jimbo gets bored (losing money, no longer interested in the project, tired of the inspection even as a privately held company) but he has the means to see it through….just a matter of desire I suppose. Mentioned in another thread was the possibility of selling to somebody like BMW to fill a gap.

Is that a common practice to lower a price.? I imagine this happens often between countries.

As the article says, the price cuts in Oz are due to an import tariff reduction.
And price reductions are a rare event, especially governments reducing taxes on cars!

Existing orders will get an accessories package to compensate for them paying the tariff.

Price cuts (AUS only?)

Yes only AUS because they reduced the tariff. I think it's pretty amazing that Ineos is sending it back to ppl. They could easily taken the money. Look at all US companies that raised their prices behind inflation argument despite spending double digit millions to buy back stock and sizable CEO payouts.

It would be awesome if the chicken tax got dropped and we would see immediate 25% price cut.

"Not doing well" is a negative statement of course.

I am sure that Ineos Automotive isn't profitable yet, in view of the huge investments in research, development and buying a plant + salaries of personnel etc. Therefore a lot of debts, most of them to their mother company Ineos.

Most start-ups aren't profitable, but that doesn't mean that their business plan is flawed. Only future will tell. I think we'll have to wait still quite a lot if years before they publish positive results.
I hope their cash flow is positive right now or in the near future.

This is right - people forget that it took Tesla 12ish years of losses before it saw its first dollar in profit. Its hard to start a new car company from scratch. There will always be people that say that XYZ start-up is losing $300K per car it sells, because they are dividing the initial investment cost among the few units sold in a particular year. That is as logical as someone spending $500K to open a pub and then a financial genius saying, "During the first hour after being open, the Quartermaster pub sold 10 pints which represents and astonishing loss of $50K per pint."

Well this IS how rumors start now isn’t it.
Undocumented “has anyone heard a rumor” posts on public forums which are then quoted elsewhere as “hey I just heard a rumor”.

This story below, about discounts in Australia to pass on a government fees reduction, is at least supported by an attached article.

Where did you hear your rumor?? Another forum or Facebook, without a link?? It’s always good to get some background, otherwise people will just think you’re a troll.

I think it maybe part of a broader INEOS ANZ promotion, as cab chassis buyers will get a credit/voucher with NORWELD if they buy a tray back or canopy. Dealer mentioned it was coming.

I think INEOS are targeting Toyota 70 series dual cab utes with the cab chassis model. Ronny Dahl videos sure got some attention in the Toyota community here.

not certain why I'm replying but I think @karoja brought a legitimate question to a safe venue to seek input. Kind of like "we will see price increases for 2025 models" (but who knows). Who knows maybe some Ineos employee is reading this and saying "we've been had...there on to us (TIC, sarc and spec).

That’s cool @Roach but why not start with, hey I just heard on FB that, or I just read on blah’s website that…. At least then we know (on face value) that it’s not just another troll post.

Besides if there is a legitimate story from somewhere I’m sure others would like to know the details. 🙂

Like others have said, the pay back time will be quite long.
I (sadly) think that we’re right to drop the Fusileer, the EV market has a lot of issues that need ironing out.
Now that Toyota are dropping the V8 70 series and going to the 2.8 4cyl, I think that plays into INEOS’s hands. The two cars become more comparable. Both having more modern engines but the Grenadier being much nicer to live with. A big part of the appeal of the 70 series was its simplicity, and it just got more complex..
If I were running INEOS I’d be forgetting about the EU and UK markets and concentrating on the ROW where people still want a proper 4x4.
