Spoke to NFU today - they knew about the Grenadier (Belstaff and commercial models) but were not able/willing to quote unless I was taking delivery in next 30 days.UK: anyone made any progress with insurers yet? I sent a message to NFU last week but nothing yet received.
Good evening,Information I recently received is that Thatcham are in the process of testing then issuing a vehicle group rating to the ABI, insurers should be able to quote in December.
I received another call from Ineos customer service today re contracts etc. I took the opportunity of pressing them on delivery date etc and it was the good news bad news situation.
Good news is my trialmaster is in the very first batch to go down the assembly line.
Bad news is it is due to be completed by 13th January 2023, with delivery to me within 60 days! so the email prior to signing the contract stating delivery December 22 or January 32 was rubbish!
What do you use this information for?I just got the clearance posting the table for the table regarding the producer and type key numbers. I guess that should help at least within the EU.
Its a system to clearly identify a specific model of a car. With this system there is no misunderstanding about the vehicle you want to insure. What do you use this information for?
You have so many more different types of vehicles in Europe, compared to Australia so I can see where this would make life easier. Its a system to clearly identify a specific model of a car. With this system there is no misunderstanding about the vehicle you want to insure.
Every model/motor combination gets its own TSN. So the insurance can give you a quote for your car if you have those two numbers.
I am curious how long my insurance needs to give me a quote as I believe that they do not entered the numbers in their database yet...
Betreff: KFZ Versicherung, HSN/TSN
...
It's maybe a German thoroughness thing: These numbers are part of your official vehicle- and registration-documents which you always have to carry with you when driving the car.You have so many more different types of vehicles in Europe, compared to Australia so I can see where this would make life easier.
I forgot the update:I've sent an inquiry to HUK24. Will keep you updated.
My insurance R&V told me nearly the same: Wait until middle of january to get a quote.I talked with someone from my insurance company this morning. She told me that she had a chat with the headquarter regarding the IG. She has been told that the HSN and TSN will be part of the official lists as soon as the production will be officially approved.
This should be on the 20th of January 2023.
I do not know whether this is true or not but as we do not know from any dealer or customer that he/she/it got a regular car (not a PTO!) it seems to be possible.
It’s the Württembergische. Can you tell which insurance it is? Just to watch it appear?
You will get a quote anyway. My one is for a 110 Defender with 249 hp as an „equivalent“ car. First I got upset because the IG is certainly not a Defender. Then I thought it maybe might not worth to explain the people from the insurance why they are so wrong…Good to read Bemax’s comment but without guaranteed insurance I would be very wary of signing a non refundable payment just to have my vehicle sitting on the drive. NFU were said to have been asked to quote but my local rep has no knowledge of this let alone a price.
