Appreciate that. But I live 200 miles from nearest dealer, hence my question.

What does determination of build date have to do with proximity to a dealer?

1. I can't conveniently go to a dealer, open the driver door, and get the build date and month from the plaque.
2. Because of that, I'm asking if I can determine the build date remotely from where I sit by decoding the VIN.

You can get the year, but not the month from the VIN.

I live 450 miles one way from my nearest dealer. I got the salesman to take a pic with his phone and text that and other stuff to me before buying. They will jump thru hoops to sell you the ride right now. Just ask…..
