A big thanks you to Ineos Grenadier London (Gerard Cross and Chiswick)
They did their utmost ( and succeeded !) in repairing my new wagon's High/Low transaxle Bowden cable just before our trip to the Alps
Thumbs up (y)

How old is your Grenadier ? I’m hoping that we not still getting Bowden cable fixing problems with newer iterations of the vehicle !

it is a 2023 car,"cancelled order".I do not know exactly what the problem was .On delivery, I asked the salesman to show me how to pur High/Low/Lock and he could not .The Infamous Pin on the gear lever had come off
Then they said the Bowden cable had to be changed and to be fair they managed to do it in time for our trip. I noticed the cable when it was in the delivery box : quite long(1.5 to 2m long?) whereas the transfer box is nearly just under the gear lever. Where does all that length of cable go ?:)

Maybe the Bowden cables came out of the fixings as mine and a few others have, not too bad if it’s caught early but I was stuck in low range ,centre diff locked and in the middle of knowhere after the cables rubbed on the prop shaft and seized. Aftermarket cable fixing bracket the way to go. They are sold on the forum store.
My Bowden cables were fixed into place with plumbing pipe clips when repaired. A really good fix. Definitely something to keep an eye out for. It’s a big job to change the cables but looking at the picture I took maybe it would be possible to take transmission tunnel cover/centre console apart and change gear ratio or centre diff lock

with a pair of pipe grips if you were real stuck ?
My transfer box was real stiff for ages but frees up with use and much better if you can change ratios whilst in a slight slope to let the vehicle roll a bit , it then changes between high and low real easy.

Excellent photos, very interesting
big chunks of metal,look solid:)
You are right to stress the potential issue when it is not functional: If you accidentally could manage to engage lock or low ,then you are in BIG trouble
When we got the car ,we went to France knowing about the issue and we were very very careful not to touch the lever,
Not even look at it, just in case!
